"We stayed at Hilton Cheltenham for my husbands birthday this weekend just gone, and enjoyed a lovely meal at The Lakeside Restaurant. The food was excellent, king prawn starter was absolutely delicious, broccoli and stilton soup very good, husbands steak tender, the chicken dish I ate was excellent, very tasty and desert delicious. The red house wine was also good (Spanish Shiraz and the Merlot . Staff very friendly and even a small bottle of Prosecco with 2 glasses bought over by the head waiter to wish my husband happy birthday.. a nice touch. We enjoyed a window seat watching the Yellow Wagtails performing over the lake as we ate and the waiter opened the doors for us to go have a look at the lake and birds after our. meal.. nothing too much trouble, a lovely dining experience : Many Thanks to waiting staff and Chef kitchen staff :"

This is the restaurant of the Double Tree hotel. Friendly waiting staff, a good range of dishes on offer and reasonably priced. Nice outlook over the gardens and pond (lake is a bit of an exaggeration! .

The food was of very poor quality and not prepared according to our preferences. The service was extremely slow, even for drinks. We were not checked on regarding the food, only asked "how you doing guys?" as a female, I do not appreciate being addressed as a guy.

We had breakfast at this restaurant while staying at the Doubletree. Due to Covid restrictions, there was more queuing than usual, which was exacerbated by the coffee machine breaking down. The food itself was decent, but the limited choices were a result of the current circumstances.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, happy to provide advice on choices and attentive without being in your face. The menu has some great choices. It's not Michellin Star quality, but it's not pretending to be and is certainly not expensive, so overall I think the offering is excellent and would happily eat here again on my next stay for work

During our stay at the Hilton Doubletree, we had the pleasure of dining at the Lakeside Restaurant for two delicious dinners. The dining room had a relaxed atmosphere with a contrast to the bustling breakfast service. The set menus offered a variety of well-prepared and presented dishes at a great value. The staff were efficient and polite. I would highly recommend the Lakeside Restaurant.

The food was lovely! Everything tasted really nice. The chicken breast was a little on the dry side for most tastes, but I like it that way. The service wasn’t the best, just haphazard. I think this is because of the (lack of) organisation and the Maitre 'D. We had three waitresses rather than one. Each was friendly when at our table, but they were incredibly adept at avoiding our gaze. The result was that we had to ask for wine twice, water twice and chase up our dessert twice too! While waiting ages for our dessert we sat and watched ALL the waitresses clearing tables. Our relaxing evening turned into a day at the office. A bad day!!!

We had four breakfasts and four evening meals at the restaurant. The breakfasts were all fine good choices, hot food, self service. We arrived on Sunday evening expecting the full menu. NOT A CHANCE. 3 starters, 3 mains, 3 puds. The soup was served in a warm jug and after you had poured it yourself into a tepid/cold bowl the soup was tepid style over substance. The three mains curry, salmon, veggie were disappointing. The other three evenings we really enjoyed our full menu options. Not fine dining but very palatable. No information on the website that a much reduced menu was offered on Sunday...BEWARE. Service was leisurely but friendly. Ilze and Daniele were very professional.

After staying in the double tree hotel we decided to eat here for convenience but it turned out to be a good choice. The positives. Every bit of food we ordered tasted really nice. The service wasn’t the best and just seemed really disjointed. I think this might of been down more to the individuals as we were served by 5 different people and 2 of those were good 1 was particularly good but the other 3 seemed a bit inexperienced maybe. Our order seemed to get messed up we ordered 2 starters and only received one then the other came out later. We ordered a side with our mains that we received after we had both finished our mains. The breakfast the next day was very nice with lots of choice and...

Lakeside is the restaurant at the Doubletree by Hilton in Cheltenham located at Charlton Kings. I had several breakfasts here plus one evening meal. Although the breakfast service was a little restricted due to pandemic measures, the food was nevertheless decent, with a reasonable selection of hot items, plus a good range of juices, fruit, yoghurt, pastries and hot beverages. I had an early dinner one night in order to view the England v Denmark football match in my room. To start, I had melon and ham, roast of the day (gammon) for main and Eton Mess for dessert. I had a large gin tonic, a large glass of Chardonnay and an Irish coffee to accompany the food. Everything, including the service,...

"The story: Two weeks prior, peeking through the restaurant window, I was intrigued to see the kitchen artizans hard at work creating sushi platters that looked vibrant but also elegant. On the 14th November at lunchtime, I was looking forward to trying Kibou as Japanese cuisine is one of my favourites. It's very hard to see the same level of unique variety that Kibou has compared to the few Japanese restaurants I am local to. We wanted to try an array of items and the mini seasonal menu had just been released in time for our visit as well. The food: The Jo Moriawase and New Style Sashimi were great introductions to the first impressions of the quality and range of the dishes available as they were the assortment dishes. Our server provided us with guidance on what we should try first on the Jo Moriawase in order to prevent ending up with eating soggy nori which we appreciated. The Black Cod Nigiri is nothing I have ever tried before so this was also an interesting experience for our tastebuds. My dad has a tough palate to appease but to my surprise, he was satisfied with the Spider Roll Temaki and Chashu Ramen (he thought the pork broth could have been less strong but nonetheless still enjoyed, not like the artificial flavourings you get in an instant ramen if you know what I mean). The Chirashizushi was great for me as I love my sashimi. I didn't realise the yellow portions were actually tamago/egg roll until I tasted it. Some sort of gastronomical wizardry? My mum really lavished the Yaki Udon textures, with the udon noodles having the right amount of nudge needed to chew and biting into the nice crispy outer layer of the tofu. My only regret is not having enough room to try the desserts. Overall, a unique adventure for the tastebuds! The price: If you are extremely budget conscious, perhaps I would not be able to recommend Kibou to you. For a family of three, we were about £40-50 per person. As of my visit, the service charge is 10%. Don't get me wrong though, I think the service charge is fair and reasonable because our experience with the staff we talked to and came by our table were lovely. The atmosphere: Family-friendly but also evening bar feel. Sakura Cherry Blossom and other Japanese-related art themes run throughout the restaurant. The service: We didn't have to wait very long to be seated or served. The waiting staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The kitchen staff did an amazing job with the food. Would I come again?: Yes, as a treat! Plus I want to try the dessert next time! :"
