"Tucked away in a quiet street in Schoenberg, but only approximately 8 minutes walk from KaDeWe, this little gem shines brightly. The Chef-Patron, who has owned this restaurant for 3 years, offers a fairly traditional German/Austrian menu with the occasional interesting twist. Ludwig must be one the most flexible and customer focused restauranteurs in Berlin as nothing is too much trouble (within reason, of course). In addition to the regular menu, he often has an additional special course. On a couple of recent visits, he had an outstanding veal addition. This was indeed a top quality piece of veal cooked to perfection (rare) and came close to the veal I used to "grow" myself many years ago. Complemented by vegetables or mushrooms, the veal was the star of the dish: all enhanced by an appropriate sauce. A fine Austrian red wine accompanied the meal. The modest wine list is carefully targeted both in range and price. The wines hail mainly from Germany, with sone additional selections from Austria, Italy, Spain and France, and is predominantly priced in the E25 - E45 range. This restaurant does not pretend to be cutting edge or haute cuisine; rather, it is a good example of fairly typical German fare at good value for money, in a "rustic" setting, with additional seating outdoors in summer."

Wonderfully authentic German and Austrian dishes. The liver was very good. My dumpling was moist and lovely and soaked up all the delicious sauce. Hearty warm comfort food. Big portions and all the meats come from local farms. Proprietor very chatty and nice.

Walked past this restaurant and did fell welcome from the first minute. The owner is super friendly and helped us with the selection of their amazing food. I would recommend to book ahead given it's a hidden secret in Berlin. Food is Bavarian food with a bit extraWould go back for sure View menu

My cousin who lives in Berlin booked this restaurant for dinner, she is a regular there! The restaurant specialises in local cuisine but done with great sofistication! The wine recommendation was excellent and we were very well looked after by the chef and owner Ludwig Bauer! One of the best dinners I had in Berlin.

This is a very nice gem in a residential street near Viktoria-Luise-Platz in Berlin, Schöneberg.A good friend took me there and I was happy we decided to go.The food is traditional German cuisine somewhat mixed together in a fresh approach combining dishes from different regions of the country.Very German and rustic.

You can eat German foods with a great taste, different menu and choices they have, always good, place is very cosy, friendly, in summer, you cannot easily find a table but always serve nice food in very decent way.Neighborhood restaurant, cafe or point, you can drink cafe or eat some stuff, doesn't matter always good standards. This place has a warm, rustic ambiance which is matched by the owner's welcoming and professional manner. The food was good hearty German food, prepared in a modern way. Soome of it was sourced from southern Germany and was described with pride and admiration. A nice place for some real German dishes. Unfortunately, cash or EC debit card only

We didn't quite know what to order, but the owner came over and we let him know we wanted a bit of a few different things. He advised he would take care of it, brought us a customized appetizer plate and dinner, and recommended a great local wine in our price range, and left us alone for the evening to enjoy the dinner while watching it rain outside. Romantic evening, good wine, and fine food, what more could you ask for?
