"Went to Langley 's last night as a party of 6 girls for my retirement dinner. We have been to Langley 's many times and actually have a WhatsApp group titled Langley 's so I am not writing this lightly. We had a lovely While you ponder of Cocktail sausages and bread with a lovely garlic butter and then ordered our mains. I just fancied a starter of tempura prawns and some chips so ordered that. The prawns came with the other mains but no chips which I had to ask for and arrived after I had eaten the prawns. We then ordered dessert and I ordered some cheese. The desserts arrived but no cheese. When my friends were almost finished I asked where my cheese was, to be told that it was on it 's way. After another 10 minutes still nothing arrived and when I enquired I was told the kitchen had forgotten about it. The restaurant was not busy so I was very disappointed. We then asked for the bill and requested that the cheese be removed. The bill arrived and we requested that the service charge be amended to about half which did not go down well with the server! Such a shame as Langley 's is such a lovely restaurant with great ambience and food, and usually great service, but not this time."

My party was the only one in the restaurant and we had to return our risotto because it was cold. The menu was very limited and several dishes, including burgers, were not available. The staff was friendly, but I would not choose to dine here again.

We had our office Christmas party at Langley's on Friday afternoon and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious with a good variety to suit everyone's tastes. The service was quick and the staff were attentive, despite our large group of 40. The venue had a great atmosphere and was also good value for money. We are happy we chose Langley's for our celebration.

The restaurant was a bit quiet for a weekday night. The food was enjoyable. The starter of house bread and scallops seemed a bit overpriced. The main course of twice-cooked pork belly was tasty. However, my steak, which I ordered medium rare, came out well done, which was disappointing. Additionally, I found the 12.5% discretionary service charge to be unfair as it was calculated before a 50% discount.

So, the food was better than we thought it would be when we walked in. The place always looks good from the outside when we pass by. We walked in on a Friday night, and only one other table was occupied. The restaurant smelled musty, the service was weird, the wine cheap to taste but expensive to pay for. We left a buzzing pub where we could have probably eaten almost as well and with better drinks and atmosphere. Maybe it was just a bad night, but as I said, the food was actuality nice.

Bevan and his team are simply the best. We arranged our company Christmas night out in December and although we had to cancel our original date at the last minute due to train strikes, Bevan quickly sorted us with a new date in January. Everyone had a fantastic evening, they had a wide selection of canapes on the menu, that were substantial in size and tasted amazing. His staff were polite and attentive to all the guests, ensuring everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a function space, very much looking forward to trying the restaurant soon.

We wanted to go out on a Thursday night for a nice meal, in great surroundings for a pre birthday day (and to be able to use a Tastecard) so we chose Langleys as we enjoyed it so much before. Pre booking on the phone was easy and the staff were helpful. On arriving we were welcomed and allowed to choose our preferred table. We chose our food and drinks and the staff were very good in answering all our questions. The food was great, the service was friendly and attentive. The venue is classy but welcoming nothing like going for a meal at a bulk standard restaurant chain. We really enjoyed ourselves and the relaxed evening, we even met the owner too! We will definitely be going back

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
