"We went to L'Atelier i think after seeing it in Conde Nast Traveller (or something similar). We were surprised to find it as a small intimate boutique restaurant. It's a sweet place off the busy touristy streets of Nice, fir for people who like to travel local. We took the Nicoise Socca with tuna as a starter, which we shared. Nice was right in the middle of a heat wave then and we wanted something refreshing. If you've never had a socca (like me), it was a perfect combination between a salty crepe and a tuna ceviche. The owner/chef/server told us that it was his specialty. I really like the family-owned vibe of a restaurant, so it made me really happy to know he was there. Their services were generally very good, the fact that we waited a bit before getting the check was absolutely fine, as the atmosphere was perfect, and it is not a white glove type of restaurant.

Dishes were excellent and beautiful, still moderately priced. Wines were really good. Kitchen staff was friendly, but the waitress/owner sour and ignoring. I would have loved to give the place five stars, but unenthusiastic and unprofessional service in higher-end restaurants always puts me off. Five stars for food, three for service.
