"Bad manners no booking. We had been meaning to visit L'Auberge, often lauded as a hidden gem' of Putney for a very long time, but didn't even make it as far as the reservation stage. I called in at about on Valentine's Day, admittedly a busy time for a restaurant, to make a booking for later on that week. After being attended to by one member of staff, I was called aside by another (possibly the proprietress) and was told very rudely (complete with wagging finger) that I could not make a reservation in person but must phone. The other member of staff had just emerged with the reservations book, but she wouldn't let him take my reservation Doubtless to say, we will not be...read more"

Excellent food, beyond excellent dessert. Service was fabulous! Will visit again next time I'm in town.

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a number of years living in Putney and finally found the opportunity to go when a friend in town wanted to go

This is my favorite restaurant in London and luckily for me, it's conveniently located at the bottom of my street! The owners of the restaurant are delightful.

The restaurant is decent. The food and service are good. They offer great wine and desserts (the chef is a skilled pastry chef). However, the prices are a bit high for the quality. There are other restaurants in Puntey that are more affordable and offer equally delicious, if not better, food.

well thought, well prepared and delicious French cuisine. recommended by michelin guide. open Tuesday until Saturday after cursor menu in the atmosphere is very cozy. I have tried several times to take the excellent and beautifully presented. assiette du sud ouest is excellent as many other dishes. Don't go away without trying the chocolate fond, you won't get enough of it. as for the bill, the worth is unbeatable.

Bad manners, wont go back again!. The food was good, but the whole night was soured by the waitress' reaction to us not paying the optional service charge. We paid more than the cost of the food but less than the included total with the service charge. Despite being upsold on the wine and desserts, she insisted that we never come back again if we didnt pay the charge. When does a optional service charge allow poor manners and grace and an awkward ending to the night? View menu

great food, great price, sour atmosphere. dined in l’auberge recently and found eating to be fantastic! excellent prices and very authentic. both the weeping and the main meal were divine. the owner/waitress was until the time when she began to insist on interfering in our dinner talks and accepting that her opinion was superior to my partner - this was a little overlaid. although the bill was stealing, the atmosphere changed due to this, so we might stay to get away from now on. Finally, this should be a nice quiet meal and not an episode of daily politics.

shhhh doesn't tell everyone or you'll never get a table. we found l’auberge randomly, tried to eat somewhere before we saw a movie in wandsworth, and it was a very happy accident. the restaurant is very much too house french bistro,' both in style of kitchen and restaurant atmosphere. eating is varied, and there is something for everyone, and I never had a disappointing meal in the year since we discovered l’auberge. they offer a series of menus for all budgets (including an express, but best is the monthly gastronomic menu in the regular about five courses. l’auberge is made by pascal (a trained baked chef, so his desserts for dying)...read more
