"Stopped for a lunch here in December (2014) by chance. Had passed it often but not stopped before.Looks just like a café / tabac but has a room for dining. Ate there because the motorway was congested and came off to get some food. Not the best looking restaurant in France but surprisingly, I had my best fish meal ever - not just in France but anywhere! This was the main course of a set menu (cod in a white wine sauce with rice - on it's own very good, but served with garlic mussels and sundried tomatoes - took it to another level.Reasonably priced with good service (husband and wife) and nice wine.Turned what had been a miserable day - Calais dock workers on strike (again!!) which delayed us followed by a snarled-up motorway (stretching for miles), into a memorable one.Needless to say I will go back and would recommend others to try it."

I didn't realized it went through a renovation until I saw it on a photo on Yelp.

We found this place through a Trip Advisor review. The Auberge looks like a pub/café but has a dining room through the bar. The food is all good and I found it hard to choose. We had gone there specifically for moules, which we did have. We both agreed that these were the best we've had anywhere. The menu included fish and shellfish as well as meats. I believe that the sole would have been fabulous and we shall have to return for that another day. 2 x moules cooked with cream, 1 dessert and 50cl of wine €37

We stayed here and decide to have dinner that evening. One of the best meals we have had in France over the week we've toured. The four of us had garlic bread (an interesting twist with tomatoes and onions), a meat platter that was heavenly and scallops that were perfectly cooked. For mains, entrecote (sublime!!), carbonara (oustanding), moules (best she has ever had) and chicken nuggets (nom nom nom). The service is a bit haphazard and inconsistent but friendly and warm. Relax, enjoy.. don't be in a hurry and you will experience really great cuisine.Thoroughly recommended !

On a day when the wind was strong enough to blow us along, we went to Audinghen for the bakery. L'Auberge is nearby and we decided to have a beer, which immediately became our lunch venue. We took the 3-course menu du jour and were not disappointed, though my lobster starter turned out to be calamari! My wife's seafood platter was as she expected. We both had the rump steak in pepper sauce - tasty, though one of them was a bit gristly. We both chose the apple tart for dessert. These were accompanied by draught Affligem and followed by espressos. The service was friendly and attentive. Nothing fancy, it was a good honest lunch in the village inn. Recommended.
