"This restaurant was recommended by the receptionist in our hotel. She made a reservation for us. It appears that we were the only English-speaking people. The restaurant did not have an English menu. The interior was classy and modern. The restaurant is located near the Opera house. Very nice location. When it comes to food, we ordered the beef which was very tender and the grilled duck which was unfortunately was not so tender. The portion was good and it's enough to make you full. It is not like those fine dining restaurants where the portion for the main dish is so little. Here you would really get full.Only 1 waiter could speak English and the one who got our orders could not speak English that I gave up trying to understand him so I ended up ordering the duck because I recognize the word canard. I know duck is hard to make so I must say their chef just had a little mistake in making my duck. The beef however is superb and I noticed many people ordered the beef. So I recommend if you will eat in this restaurant, order the beef. It comes with a big slice of foie gras on top of the meat. They serve bread together with the dishes. For 2 main dishes, 2 glasses of wine and 2 cups of coffee, our bill was 60 euro which was a very reasonable price. I also noticed that a number of people ordered the crab with risotto so I suggest to try that. A glass of wine here costs 5 euro.Presentation of the food was excellent. I also noticed the Gaullt Millau 2012 sticker outside the restaurant. For tourists looking for finer dining experience, I think this is worth a try. I hope the management of this restaurant will make an English version of their menu and tell their waiters not to avoid eye-contact from english speaking customers. Well one 1 waiter did that however and I pity him. You can see his anxiety."

We were recommended this restaurant by a hotel receptionist. It has a contemporary atmosphere. The service and the food were good but not exceptional. The food seemed overpriced for the quality served.

Went here for lunch and had the 2 course menu de midi which was great value nice airy restaurant. space outside as well if you want that no real problems to report other than it is probably going to difficult in the restaurant unless you have a decent grip of French

Going to be hard to find a hundred words to write about a short stop for a beer and a shandy. Let me try. When asked during a busy lunch the waiter gave us a reserved outside table in the sun. This kind of kindness with a smile deserves a good review. I would certainly go back to try the food. View menu

Seated inside the restaurant we enjoyed great service and lovely food. The service was brisk without being rushed, and the owner (presumably) spoke English to us despite my best efforts in French. He was amusing into the bargain! We had two courses and the food was beautifully presented. We came out feeling we'd had a great meal and experience.

Eventually found this place after walking around looking for a restaurant that has more options of different dishes. The restaurant was fully booked, however we were lucky enough to be offered outside dining. The French waiter was also English speaker translated the menus helped with the choice of wine. This was our most memorable evening ! The staff worked so hard but remained calm, efficient friendly.

Nice place, calm, good atmosphere, good service, good wine and also good food. I had tuna for dinner and my kids had hamburger, we had a table down, in the middle of the restaurant, besides as a good French restaurant your pet is allowed to be with you during the dinner. It was not my case but the people seated at the table near was having dinner with their dog. It is not the best in Bordeaux but it worth the try. I have a good moment. View menu

Had 3 courses here, all excellent. Foie gras, Italian ham to start. Both big portions although fois gras was better thanks to fig bread and marmalade. Cote de boeuf was unlike any meat I've ever seen. Perfectly cooked to our rare desires and happy to add some delicious vegetables on the side. Recommend cafe gourmand to share for dessert... My partner got the cafe while I indulged in 3 types of mini desserts. Agree the menu only in french, but the waitress had a good level of English to translate where needed. However go expecting a french experience and enjoy practising your french there too. We paid 115e for 3 courses and a bottle of red between 2. True, I'm no fine dining expert but one of...

We stopped in for dinner tonight at Le Cinq for our last night in Bordeaux and we are so happy we did! The wait staff were lovely, especially the non English speaking rather theatrical guy with glasses (no name tags) he was awesome. I did appreciate the fact once they knew we were non French speaking, they bought out an English version of the menu which was a nice touch. My husband ordered the duck ravioli which also had caviar in it and was served with an amazing tomato sauce with so much flavour, it really is the best ravioli we’ve ever tasted. He also ordered a Caesar salad which looked amazing, he was really impressed with it and it was so big he couldn’t quite finish it. I ordered the s...
