"Booked ages ago, husband explained my food intolerances and when arriving at the restaurant they weren’t prepared at all. Menu not accommodating and choice of 1 starter (which was poor) and main which was ok if they hadn’t served it with buttered potato. Feeling quite ill and now what was meant to be a great evening with my husband ruined. Can’t recommend at all and won’t be back. Their menu says let us know about allergies but they won’t do much with it at all when you tell them even days weeks in advance. disappointed"

"During our stay in Sway, we stopped by the Silver Hind for a quick drink and decided to return the next evening for dinner and their quiz night. We received a warm welcome from both the staff and the regular patrons, making for a really enjoyable evening. The beer was well-kept, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, which consisted of pizza and a side salad, followed by crème brûlée. I rated the food 4 stars, however, because my partner is vegan and there weren't many options for him. If it had been just me, I would have given it 5 stars! We would definitely return if we're in the area again."

"We visited for the first time for a birthday celebration on 28/10/23. The food was superb. Portion sizes were very generous. The service was great. And it was a lovely atmosphere. The only drawback, was the wood fire which irritated our eyes. But apart from this, the waiter and chef were extremely attentive, courteous and very kind. All we can say is, this is a fantastic place to go for a great meal with friends and family. Thank you for making my birthday meal a memorable occasion with my wonderful friends. Dietary restrictions: The chef adjusted the the menu to accommodate one of us who has a gluten intolerance. We were so grateful and the meal was delicious."

"The special starter was a small salmon roulade appetiser. Very tasty and well presented. Main course was lamb, deliciously cooked to a delicate pink. It did not come with green vegetables so I ordered a side dish of broccoli and spinach. Both were perfectly cooked. I gave in to a small slice of treacle tart that was worth all the calories. One glass of white wine and sparkling water topped off a delicious meal. It was very expensive at nearly £80.00. The restaurant is in the hub of the Balmer Lawn Hotel and largely open plan located beside the reception. Whilst the restaurant staff are excellent and attentive the restaurant lacked an upmarket restaurant ambiance and decor were not suited for such an expensive meal."
