"Le Boeuf Gros Sel was just over the bridge from our hotel in Monmatre, so was really for easy for our first night in Paris. The whole experience was fantastic. My boyfriend started with the baked camembert which was perfect: very lightly battered and baked, deliciously creamy on the inside. I had the verrine d'avocat, which was superb: a really generous amount of both salmon and avocado. For our mains, we both had the steak tartare which was creamy and wonderfully seasoned. For dessert, we shared the tourtière aux pommes, with flaming calvados which was a spectacle as well as a delicious way to end our meal. We shared a bottle of red wine, and the total bill was EUR89.00 which we thought was superb value. The team are very welcoming, happy to explain things that we weren't sure about, and also happy to speak a bit of English when I was stumped about the seasoning we wanted in the steak tartare!"

4 people for a late Saturday dinner. Very friendly staff. No English menu. Good food, but no alternative for milk allergy.

We went here with friends; the restaurant is well situated in the area; the room is comfortable, the owner is very nice, the food is very good ( as well as the desserts). We had a very nice dinner

We had the côte de boeuf for 2 persons. Make sure you’re hungry because you get a lot. But the meat tasted superb. The french frites were good. Ideal place to have a great steak with good wine. Atmosphere is laid back.

We revisited this restaurant because we had enjoyed meals in the past. Never again. We can say after coming to Paris for over 20 years this is the worst meal we have ever had. Very disappointing steak and edible fries, and way over priced. View menu

This restaurant was recommended to us by the local Holiday Inn and did not disappoint. They prepared an excellent vegetarian mean for my partner, my fillet steak was superb and the price very reasonable. Excellent service and ambiance - Highly recommended.

The restaurant was recommended as being a real French experience, and it was marvellous. The food was utterly delicious (our order included snails, foie gras, côté de boeuf, onion soup and the best chicken in the kids meal that any of us had ever eaten). The staff were very friendly and helpful, the whole experience was just brilliant and I highly recommend it to anyone.

I wouldn't normally right a review of somewhere I visit with work as they have to feed so many people at once. My issue is that they fed three coeliacs pasta while claiming it was "sans gluten" thus making two people very ill. One didn't eat the food. When I asked him why (I was very angry) the manager said "10 years ago everyone ate wheat, nuts and meat and no one died" so if you have no allergies then eat here, otherwise don't View menu

We came for a dinner and reserved with Fork/TA. A nice place, nice food and a very helpful waiter (our French is worse than bad and the waiter immediately switched to English). The snails were really great, salmon was very good, with vegetables on the side. I recommend the pies for dessert (we had an apple pie and a strawbery pie). We also got the discount that was announced on Fork which was a nice surprise, since we forgot about it.The location is also very good, close to the Montmartre cemetery and below the Montmartre itself.Thumbs up!

Nice little bistro in Monmartre. We went mid- Friday evening, it was packed, but the owner served us drinks at the bar and we waited for 15 minutes then he found us a table. Speciality is beef, but lots of other choices for non-carnivores. We shared an enormous cote de boeuf, cooked to perfection just as ordered. I had a starter of poached eggs with foie gras (ouefs mollets au foie gras), which was amazing. Menu is in French but no problem if you only speak English as they will translate it for you. Service was great, attentitive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this to any visitor to Paris.
