"ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! This restaurant was by far our worst experience we have had during our month in Europe. When my fiance and I arrived, I asked the owner lady if she spoke english and she said yes. But after seating us, she refused to speak english to us and I gathered from her french that she expected us to speak French since we were in France. We ordered drinks, but then when we tried to order an entre to split since we weren't that hungry), she refused to accept our order, indicating that we had to order two meals. The menu had parts of it in english, so I picked a meat entre and something that said tomato and meat, which turned out to be a bowl of pasta with hardly any meat. Then the steak was horrendous... completely chewy and I had to spit out most of it because I couldn't chew it enough to swallow it. Then to top it all off, when we went to the front counter to pay, the lady told me 39 Euros without giving me a bill, and then when I questioned it, she raised it to 43 euros. Irritated, I told her that the quality of her steak was not good, and I think she told me that she didn't speak english and as her voice got louder she ended it all by yelling who-knows-what at us the entire time we were leaving the restaurant. This lady is highly prejudiced against English speaking people and doesn't care about customer service or quality. If you don't speak French, STAY AWAY! And if you do... well, who knows... maybe she'll give you a higher quality steak??? My fiance and I got in our only fight of our trip that night brought on my the bad energy of this whole experience. We had a delicious lunch here. The scenery is lovely (overlooking the harbour), the service is swift and the food is great. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place!

Had lunch here today with friends from France and the US, the meals were fabulous and I would highly recommend it..I had the Gnocchi 4 Fromage and it was to die for, Don't miss this restaurant in the La Darse section of Villefranche-sur-Mer.

Unexpectedly good. Had lovely moist roast chicken with fries and salad, roasted courgette and seafood pasta. All delicious and very good price. Would have given 5 stars were it not for the open uncovered salad bar and bread tray which we avoided!

The menu is very good. Great location on the beach. But the restaurant is very busy serving tables and beach chairs. Be prepared to wait ! It took one hour for our food to arrive . The service was cheerful and friendly even though they were literally running all the time.

visited midday, on a very hot sunny day all the outdoors became a lot of space inside with beautiful view of marina friendly English speaking staff we had the day and nice cold camp, very clean friendly service. small menu like all freshly cooked mainly fish dishes. we were on a cruise that villefranche sur mer thought of a few hours. a good sound.

We where 8 friend that wanted to try a restaurant outside the city , and went to this because our first choice was closed for the evening we should walked in to the town. The service wasn 't as good as you hope for and my food (lamb chops) wasn 't good. Some of the other friends was happy whit the food, but the restaurant missed out on our food order.

We went here twice on holiday, delicious both times. There's a lovely patio outside where you sit overlooking Villefranche harbour (note this restaurant is in La Darse area, which is a 5 min walk away from the main town). The plus point about it being in this area it is quieter, and more often than not used by a good mix of locals and tourists staying in this area. Therefore as well as it feeling less touristy it is more serene than up in the centre of Villefranche which is always packed with tourists. The food is excellent a lot of fresh fish dishes. I 've lived in Villefranche for many years and had never tried the Club de la Mer (we have our favourites and normally stick to them). Today we decided that we should try it for lunch. Other reviews mention poor, rude service. We did not find this. There were two ladies serving (owner and helper). They may not be natural service staff but they tried their best. We do speak French, which may help, but we could see that as the restaurant filled up they struggled to cope not their fault, but more on of French employment laws where employing extra staff is very expensive.
