"Had dinner here last night and really enjoyed it. The staff were excellent, very friendly and really looked after us. They have a small but tasty menu and can do children’s portions of lots of dishes- worth stopping at this restaurant, or if you know you will be in the area make a reservation in advance as it was so busy the first night we arrived we couldn’t get in! Overall very tasty and worth visiting"

Amazing food with a superb host who made our family feel really welcomed. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and it was no surprise it quickly filled up after our early arrival. Book ahead if possible. View menu

A nice surprise that this atypical restaurant, by its decor, its grocery and the atmosphere that emerges from it. Home personalized and very nice.Frites excellent house just like home ketchup. A big thank you to the chef for making me a vegetarian burger because unlike the info of the restaurant on tripadvisor, there was no vegetarian or vegan choice.

"Sought this one out on the strength of the reviews here, and it was well worthwhile. Monday lunchtime it 's not always easy to find somewhere, we didn 't book, it was quite busy and we came in with our dog. They were a bit hesitant, not because they minded but because they didn 't want her to get trodden on the tables are quite closely spaced, it 's a fairly small place. But then a lovely couple who 'd just got settled with their drinks in a place with a dog safe corner offered to change to another table so we could be more comfortable, which was SO kind and a really good start, and the owner/chef and waitress quickly sorted it out. We had the cheapest two course menu, an apéritif and small pichet of wine, it was all really good and very reasonably priced. My husband had fish with a light curry sauce, beautifully cooked and well flavoured, I had an interesting 'chorizette ' sausage, a bit like a merguez but with chorizo sort of flavouring and a nice texture, locally produced and again very crisp and perfectly cooked, and we had pan fried (poêlées new potatoes, which made a pleasant change from chips (potatoes are good round here . Then dame blanche and creme brûlée for dessert, very nice. The wine was basic Gascogne white but a good one too. The service was lovely, the guy is cooking in the middle of the place but he was so laid back and friendly, happy to talk and advise, speaks lovely English (but didn 't mind speaking French with me either! , and serves as well, and the waitress was a sweetie, no shortage of smiles at all and both relaxed and efficient. As I say, we had the basic menu and the food was quite simple but good, and just right for our appetites; you could spend more and no doubt have something more extravagant and special, there were some interesting things on the menu. Also lots of whiskies and rhum arrangé in evidence... It 's a bit out of the way but well worth seeking out (we asked directions in the mag presse in town , and St Pol is an interesting and attractive town."
