"Home ultra smiling from the whole team (telephone and room, beautiful and spacious terrace, very little promise between the different tables. Smiles, listening, advice in our choice of quality menus were provided by Laura and Juliette. Caregivers, not too much, Particular attention has been given to our whole, it becomes increasingly rare and we really enjoyed it. Discovery of local products (digital,... . "This is the second bad meal at this café in giving it a second chance and we shouldn't have bothered. The ownership has changed but it appears that the poor kitchen service has not. All three burger meals were overcooked. The fourth, a supposed ham hock, was not worth giving to our dog, being all fat, gristle and bone. It was exchanged on that basis for another burger but that was just as poor as the other three. No word of apology was offered during the whole incident nor was there any form of price reduction for the overall disappointment. A poor service for poor meals in a poor restaurant, never to be be repeated again. Take our advice avoid."

"We booked with my companion a table at noon for tonight 20:30. When we arrived the boss told us that it was complete while we had booked and more outwards but more room then we had a table in the interior. (so it's not reserved, it's no use.) the boss was a little alcoholic and almost put plates several times on the ground, she still spilled a glass on a table and, moreover, speaking of hygiene: the table sets and the table, she was not clean. the vmc is filled with dust and small spider canvases during the walls. for the menus: there is not too much choice and the waiting time is a little long, the meat a little expensive but of very good quality despite that of my companion that he had asked to point but who was bleeding and I who took a juice of fruit and was a little disappointed when I saw that it was a jafaden from the lerclerc for 3€50? It's not even the price of 4 small bottles in the store and we've been leaving we haven't had the right to a good-bye but just a good evening and that says it's already not bad. I don't think we'll go back to a restaurant because there's worse, but much better."

"I ate here with my husband on Tuesday night 20th June - his birthday. I rang from Ireland a few days before to book a table and the girl on the phone was lovely.On arrival we were welcomed by the owner Amandine - she spoke English and had worked in Ireland a few years ago - her husband is the Chef. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the menu has something for everyone and the staff were very helpful. We ate Entrecôte Steak which was cooked exactly as we asked with very good French fries and a salad - all served on a wooden platter - it looked very pleasing to the eye and tasted even better. I had a wonderful dessert of white chocolate souflet all washed down with a glass of The house white wine and a bottle of Vittel - the cost was €57. We loved Le Comptoir du Marche for its ambience, its very friendly staff but especially for its culinary Excellence - Well done to Amandine and her husband for running such a fantastic establishment. If you're in the Jonzac area do go along for a delightful meal at a very reasonable price - Bon Appetite!"

"This is in a converted mill with timber beams across the ceiling and a water wheel. Beautifully presented inside with a cosy feeling, staff very welcoming and accommodating and could mostly speak English if required. Outside also looks very nice. We had the set two...course menu for about 17 euros. The food was generally very good although the veal was quite fatty, the French preference perhaps. I had the fish which tasted great with baked alaska dessert and a local red wine which was one of the best I've ever tasted."
