"This is the second bad meal at this café in giving it a second chance and we shouldn't have bothered. The ownership has changed but it appears that the poor kitchen service has not. All three burger meals were overcooked. The fourth, a supposed ham hock, was not worth giving to our dog, being all fat, gristle and bone. It was exchanged on that basis for another burger but that was just as poor as the other three. No word of apology was offered during the whole incident nor was there any form of price reduction for the overall disappointment. A poor service for poor meals in a poor restaurant, never to be be repeated again. Take our advice avoid."

"What a great restaurant! They serve delicious lunch dishes that not only taste great, but the presentation is also excellent. Smooth and modest service from the host and hostess. We have been traveling through France for a month now from Alsace to Brittany and have had lunch in the French country several times. This lunch (3 courses for 20.50 euros) in Restaurant Le Jonzacais was great! There is a bar, an outdoor terrace and an indoor restaurant. Everything looks attractive and inviting. Compliments to the chef!"

"so the good pieces some really good eating. 64 grad egg with black bauch; hake with a Bramble sauce; black medaillons. all very well cooked, beautifully presented and well served. there is only something missing, especially after so many gushing reviews on tripadvisor, and not being able to book four times in the run of a month had built up expectations. your heart drops when the nightly menu is laminated, it will obviously be repeated again and again. the decor inside is functional, but dates a bit like the black medallions. beautiful meat, beautifully presented, but obviously sous vide with an intense sauce. 15 years ago. the kitchen seemed to be a modern sparkle, a little joie de vivre missing. this can be good because the restaurant is popular with the local British population, why change a winning formula? Summing up, a perfectly competent meal in a nice restaurant, and not badly worth at 82€ for two, but it just lacks that certain something. it is not the best restaurant of the opposite, probably not the best in jonzac."

"Entrée très moyenne, aumônière de pétoncles très peu garnie servie sur un pain d'épices inutile et de mauvais goût. Dessert, choix de la mousse au chocolat. Grosse erreur, juste écœurante, si bien que j'aurais dû me limiter au fromage blanc au cognac qui m'a agréablement surpris. Pourquoi une si bonne note finalement ? Tout simplement parce que le plat était parfait. Un dos de cabillaud parfaitement cuit avec quelques légumes du soleil grillés et un concassé de tomates bien relevé au top. Service parfait et attente très raisonnable malgré le monde. Restaurant bien pour une fois ou sinon idéal pour juste un plat de poisson."

"We have eaten in the Auberge du Moulin on numerous occasions in the past couple of years. We are always impressed by the freshness of the decor . Madame is charming and always eager to please. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is incredible, well-cooked and beautifully presented, and served with panache and a huge smile. The portions are generous and the food is locally sourced. There is a good wine list, featuring local wines and spirits. Unfortunately, Madame does not have a lot of English, so be prepared to exercise your talent in French."
