"Very disappointed with the dishes. Reheated. The rubbery, burnt potatoes I couldn't eat. There was salad, I thought I'd take revenge on it, but the vinaigrette only tasted like very strong vinegar and my stomach is too fragile for that. My friend was also disappointed. For €14 there were 4 strips of meat. We were shocked. His main course was also too light in quantity and unfortunately having tasted it was not bad but tasteless. I didn't eat anything from my dish and given the prices I couldn't afford dessert. Very expensive meal and on the way back we ate. Paying so much for this sticks in my throat. However, I showed the boss the condition of the potatoes but no action. It was an engagement meal given the notes I thought I would choose well. When I tell myself that I threw away €100 worth of groceries for a disappointing dinner. So you are aggressive? Those are happy people. What right do you have to talk about my belt and my health? The lady serving asked me what was wrong to bring it back to the kitchen. You do not accept truth and criticism. I gave 5 for the atmosphere and 5 for the service but now your reaction says a lot about you. And it's not my husband but my fiancé and I don't see how I could be unhappy that day and for your information I'm from Rochelle and I move often, is that forbidden? You ask questions to customers to go and spread it out afterwards. So bitter and aggressive. I think you have to listen to your customers and come see and act. You're shooting yourself in the foot alone, sir."

"This is the sort of place you'd not normally find but are pleased you did.Recommended to eat here by our host at a nearby chateau 4 of us had a booking for dinner.Ok, so we sat at plastic tables outside overlooking the village square but it could not have been better.Such a friendly and charming place to eat, popular with locals and visitors alike.The service was swift and engaging. A complimentary aperitif went down well. The menu is excellent and varied. My entrecôte was sizeable and delicious washed down with a carafe of local red.The sweet courses were equally excellent. Try the profiteroles - they're huge.All in the bill was €117 for the four of us. That is a great price for such a great meal.Highly recommended."

"I reviewed this place .. a few weeks ago. Sadly, I mistakenly put the review for another hotel in Mervent in, instead of the correct review for this place. It is a tiny rather quaint little restaurant/hotel/bar, with very pleasant hotel staff, it's clean and its welcoming. A great place to cycle to, drive to or indeed walk to, through the Mervent forest, where it sits hidden away. This is not a "smart" restaurant, but the food is really tasty and well served. The tables are spaciously placed, and the whole ambience is that of a country pub. The menu is varied and excellent value and the place on each time we have been there is well filled with mainly French people. We would recommend it if you want a wholesome meal, served with great civility, and in a place that seems authentically French. No guff, no frills and no false pretenses. Well done the proporietors fro keeping this place what it is, without loosing the genuine appeal of good food and authenticity."
