"We were strolling around in Valence and found ourselves at lunchtime on a little square with several restaurants. We chose this, as the outside sitting looked becoming. And a good choice it proved to be! As starters we chose a creme brule with blue cheese and a millefeuille with aubergines, tomatoes and mozzarella. I took the plat du jour: a thick cut of daurade with a subtle vegetable risotto (9,5 euros!), my wife chose a tuna steak with a peperonata-type topping. A fresh strawberry tart (for me) and cafe gourmand (wife) rounded up this lovely lunch, which we washed down with a good viognier and red wine, both vin de pays and reasonably priced. The two young ladies serving were quick and professional. Definitely worth a visit."

Starter millefeuille with aubergine and mozerella was right out of the fridge and much too cold. Main fish was partly ok and partly not fresh.

Tiny with good food, one competent and friendly waitress serving everyone, a good bottle of St Joseph. Tres sympa as the locals say. I had another delicious pumpkin and chestnut cream soup and an excellent steak au poivre. Probably my favorite joint in Valence.

We had dinner at Le Milou a very hot, but also very windy evening in July. We were seated outside on the small nice square. The waiter was very attentive, the food was nice traditional regional cuisine, and the price/quality ratio was absolutely positive. A pleasant experience!

The restaurant is in the heart of the eating capital of the area so there's no scarcity of competition. We found the food to be excellent, nicely presented and well served - even by a very busy waitress!I had a wonderful salad entree which could have been a main course. I followed with grilled fish which just perfectly cooked. My companions risotto was as good as he had anywhere! Deserts were scrumptious too.Value for money was excellent at 75 for two dinners with a nice Languedoc and water.

The wife and I ate here recently. It was a very stormy night and despite being on her own, the waitress served about 20 people who crowded inside after the rain began to fall. I had the 'house' burger and the wife chose a salad, and we both had a selection of cheeses to finish. A little bit of local wine washed everything down. All was delicious, especially the burger, which was the best I've eaten in a long time. It's located in a nice quaint square away from the main thoroughfares, and well worth the visit.

We opted for the Menu du Jour - no choice of entree (tartare of salmon) or plat (roast chicken leg or thigh) and dessert (we chose strawberry panacotta) €15. A jug of house white (4 glasses for €8.50) and coffee brought the total for two to €41.70. Generous portions, quick service, nicely cooked and presented food, and a table in the sun under the trees on the terrace in this quiet and gentle square made for an altogether very pleasant and relaxed lunch. Just watch out for a pigeon in the tree above one of the tables!

Le Milou is a small restaurant on a cosy square in Valence. The square is lovely in summer and less crowded than the popular market square Place de Clercs.Service was kind and fast considering they were full. No problems for those with food allergies to adjust the plates, removing the problematic foods and replacing it with something safe. They serve an interesting variety of meals for starters, main dishes and desserts, in the French Cuisine style but with some original twists. The starters can be taken as a main cours which is a good plus. For the gourmandes; be sure to leave some stomach space for the Cookie Hamburger as dessert!

le milou is a restaurant in the historical center of valence, which is in the beautiful square of the dock. There are half a dozen restaurants in this square, but everyone fills up fast the weekend, and if you can book, better. is a small and cozy place, which serves good regional food. the terrace is very nice in summer, because some big trees give shade. oted can eat without drinks for less than 15 euros, then have a menu of small wines in the region that is very cheap too.
