"Best carcase cassoulet. Yet I tasted several and that of the modern tavern remained better. I highly recommend because apart from eating well you enjoy the warm welcome, it looks like we were waiting for you. during our carcase stay we ate here three times and every time it was very good. regional dishes are simple and good. "Tucked away down a side street near the Basilica, this is one of Carcassonne's better restaurants. We booked ahead and a table was waiting. There is a good wine list and we ordered a local wine which was delicious. We then chose from the menu. The starter of seared scallops was wonderful as was the pablova, which was a special dessert, but the restaurant was let down by the main course. We chose the specisl dish of the day which was veal. The accompanying vegetables and sauce were wonderful but the veal, in the form of a chop, was tough and chewy. I'm afraid that I did not enjoy it and left quite a bit. Not a success I should have chosen one of the other standard selections on the menu."

"Para evitar los restaurantes turísticos de la cité acudimos a este restaurante por su buena puntuación. Éramos 3 y pedimos tabla de queso, tapas variadas y tabla de embutido (intentamos pedir plato del día pero no nos dejaron para compartir). La tabla de queso era la grande y no muy abundante para 3 personas. Las tapas variadas consistían en una ensalada, 4 vasitos que no supimos identificar, tres rodajas de melon y 2 lonchas de jamón serrano (del envasado). El plato de embutidos nunca llegó aunque visto el nivel de los anteriores platos ni nos molestamos en reclamarlo lo cual fue un acierto. El restaurante no es para nada recomendable. Su puntuación debe de ser consecuencia de que también tiene servicio de alojamiento."

"What a gem! As we wandered around the castle we got peckish. We found this place tucked away, off the courtyard, in the centre of the castle. Diners are seated in a small, enclosed courtyard,this unfortunately obscures any views of the ramparts or keep.We had the set menu, ordering from the selection of starters, mains and sweets. I ordered goats cheese tart, as did my wife. We received one goats cheese and a liver salad. We were going to raise it as an issue but then my wife tried it, loved it and ate it! I had the Cassoulet for main, very, very good. My wife had chicken, also very good. We both had lemon tart to finish, stunning. With a couple of beers, 50 Euro (ish) Service was attentive, we were the only customers, the bill arrived as we were finishing sweets! However I will forgive them this, we were the last diners, they were obviously shutting and the food was lovely. Would we go again? Maybe, but only for the food."
