We came here for a Birthday lunch and it was really good. The menu has a good choice and is reasonably priced and there is a good range to choose from on the a la carte. The food is well presented and the portions just the right size. I really enjoyed my Café Gourmande well worth the 3 euro supplement. We would definitely eat here again.

Le saumon restaurant (have not tested the hotel part was just what we needed for a local stop and taste in Verneuil sur Avre. The atmosphere is a bit 'strict ', so not too modern hip young, but the food in the plate was well made and obviously home made, as all sauces jus and dishes had the mark of freshness (fresh herbs, etc... not coming from a plastic pot from a supermarket... I really enjoyed my veal head dish (tete de veau . as it was moist, tender and delicious. Good selections of wines and local drinks ciders etc...

It's really the style of restaurant that we'd like to find everywhere in france and that will remind some of a rare art of living. quiet and relaxing atmosphere, large bright and soft room, well spaced tables, tablecloths and towels in white fabric, very attentive service, smiling. In short, you feel at ease right away to enjoy a refined cuisine that can be either traditional (e.g. the calfskin head gribiche) is inventive and original (such as the salmon skewer, bacon, fruit-punches a great value and ... a beautiful view of the beautiful gothic tower of the holy church madeleine. What more?

I had the opportunity to stay at the salmon hotel several times and I would recommend it warmly. As many have said, it is “in its juice”: the wifi doesn’t work, there is no socket right next to the bed to plug its laptop and the decor is a bit out of date in the dining room. But if we decide that all this is not essential, it releases a good child atmosphere, the boss and his staff are very nice, the rooms are very clean and the new bedding. the restaurant is worth the detour to him alone: it is fresh, house, well served and at very correct prices. Pour ce dîner du jeudi 21 mars dernier, je suis revenu au Saumon vieille institution de la Place de la Madeleine à Verneuil-sur-Avre, restaurant reprit, relooké et rafraîchit, beau cadre, service sympa et efficace, bonne ambiance, avons opté pour la carte et donc après un apéritif au tour d 'un verre de Pinot Gris et d 'un Whisky Jack 's Daniel 's et ses petits amuse-bouche. Un Velouté, oeuf poché et un fin filet de hareng et petite mousse de Pomme de Terre en entrée, suivi d 'un Pavé de Saumon et d 'une Joue de Boeuf. Pour le dessert, un Fondant au Chocolat et une Poire Pochée, côté boisson, vin au verre avec un Brouilly de chez Jean Loron. Bon service, produits bien travaillés, toujours un...
