Lovely setting at the lakeside. Drinks or snacks during the day. In the evening, a lovely relaxing meal he sun go down. Attentive, friendly staff. The beef rib joint for two to share on a hot slate is a tad expensive but a sensational dish.

Restaurant familial accueillant. La terrasse offre une vue superbe. Rapport qualité prix excellent. Ne manquez pas la costata fiorentina, tendre et savoureuse. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié aussi les spaghettis fruits de mer. Un salut particulier pour l’attention aux enfants.

We visited this restaurant L’Idrovolate by the cable car station a few times. We enjoyed beautiful hot chocolate which was more like melted chocolate, the sandwiches were tasty and there were wonderful views of the lake mountains. The staff was very friendly. We recommend this restaurant very much.

Dit restaurant ligt aan het meer en naast de kabelbaan. Eenvoudig, maar met een mooi terras.Heel vriendelijke en vlotte bediening.En heel lekker eten, voor een democratische prijs.Enkele zeer lekkere gerechten, oa het voorgerecht van gepekelde vis.Zo lekker dat we nog een keer gaan eten zijn.Prijs/kwaliteit top.

This is a lovely bar. we only went here as we had an hour to kill before getting the boat over to one of the islands for dinner. The service was quick and friendly and the prices reasonable considering you are on the edge of the lake. its not the poshest bar in the world, and its a bit buggy, but its probably got one of the best positions in the whole of Stresa.

We were walking over from Baveno to Stressa had taken a detour on the lovely woody walk, the M4, gone past the Verbano Yacht Club ended up here in the hope of catching a ferry back to I Pascatori. After avoiding some persistent touts who were trying to get us to go on their boat at great expense we escaped to this lovely, functional cafe but with tremendous views. Great coffee, beer a little pizza. Normal prices too. We missed the boat walked back to Stressa, which is a lovely walk too.

This cafe bar was close to our hotel so we used it on a few occasions. Our first visit was for lunch when we shared a platter of Italian meat and cheese, it was good but had very little cheese! Our second visit was for the dish with three scoops of ice cream, delicious. Our final visit was for an evening drink, sitting out on the terrace the views across to the islands and the lights of the lakeside villages were spectacular. On all our visits we found the staff to be helpful and the prices reasonable.

I 've been there many times in the past. It was an acceptable restaurant with a decent quality/price ratio. I came back, I think for the last time, last Sunday for lunch. Unqualified food: a dish of boiled onions in salted water was served to me as onion soup! A risotto with cabbage and ragù was served to my wife. It was a cabbage leaf boiled with boiled rice on top and still over liquid tomato sauce with minced meat (the ragù is another thing for us Italians . Appetizer of sliced salami was acceptable, I fear the sliced cheeses served were industrial (the small local farmers produce tens of deliciousl cheeses! . Wine was mid quality but quite expensive. L'Idrovolante is a great restaurant and bar in a perfect spot at the Carciano ferry port at the end of the Stresa promenade. If you follow the red brick lakeside promenade along Stresa lakefront, then down a little street, you come quickly back to the lakeside and then find this little gem. It is a lovely walk to get there and it has fantastic views overlooking the Borromean Islands from its specious terrace. The food is excellent, there is a really good choice, it is good value and I have had several meals there, as it is my favourite spot for lunch whenever I am on holiday there.
