"We all need to patronise local initiatives such as this and after an 8 mile hike an ice cream was just what we needed. I had a rhubarb flavour, which was OK and my wife had a grapefruit sorbet which was not. In the sorbet were bits which of which could have been gelatin but which made it distinctly unpleasant. So she took it back to the counter to complain. The girl just said oh dear , didn 't apologise, didn 't try to ascertain what the matter was and didn 't offer either a replacement (which my wife would have accepted) or a refund. In the end my wife asked for her money back which was proffered in a rather perfunctory manner. It all left a rather nasty taste in the mouth literally."

Excellent cream tea in a dairy farm. Interesting gallery where you can see the cows being milked! Plenty of room inside and out.

We loved our visit here, eating wonderfully creamy ice creams whilst watching the cows being milked by state of the art machinery. This is located just up the road from Tarr steps and has lots of seating inside and out.

Stopped here and had ice creams that were gorgeous and not too expensive either, the lovely lady making honeycomb was very friendly. Great pit stop on the way or way back from Tarr Steps. Well worth a visit for the salted caramel ice cream alone.

Called in to this ice cream parlour after seeing it on tv, great selection of ice creams with some unusual flavours. We wanted to take some tube away with us for our freezer but there was a very limited selection for this so good if you just want a cornet.

Great ice cream, rich and flavoured well. Top flavours sampled by our gang of six....... lemon sorbet, raspberry pavlova, cappuccino, mint choc chip, rum n raisin. Great watching the cows, getting milked behind the window !!! Service great, and an all round must for the summer !!

We stopped here on our way back to Tarr Steps after a long hot walk, they are producing Gelato Ice Cream type from their own cows, these are milked using an automatic milking machine that the cows walk into as when they need, this is inside the shop seen through a large glass wall fascinating to watch, ideal for children to see the Gelato was delicious.

We visited Liscombe Farm on a recent trip to Devon. This visit was the highlight of our trip. Zoe was a very attentive host and as we were obviously very interested in the robotic milking process, she spent considerable time with us. She is a great educator, very patient and enthusiastic. The location of Liscombe farm is unbeatable, the scenery gorgeous. Last but not least...the ice cream is absolutely fabulous, to die for . Thank-you ZOe!!

We visited the Tarr Steps on Exmoor and were intrigued by a sign directing us to a robotic ice cream making outlet. What a fascinating place. We watched from behind a huge window as their herd of 68 Swiss Brown cows were automatically milked by a single machine. We were told all about the process, the welfare of the herd and the making of the ice cream. And what ice cream! Delicious taste, wonderful selection and extremely friendly staff. Quite possibly the best ice we have ever tasted!

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
