"Terrible experience. Restaurant was short staffed and therefore waiting time was nearly 45mins without any communication. What little food we did have however, was very nice, bar the Fusca, which was probably the worst I’d had. Such a shame really. We were offered the dessert menu, 20 minutes after we’d been left waiting for the remaining food. The waiter was pleasant, and I actually felt sorry for him. But nonetheless, our food order had been forgotten, and we had hardly eaten anything. He was clearly under pressure and this is purely down to poor management, and the owners prioritising external events they were catering for on this particular Saturday evening ; the restaurant itself clearly wasn’t of any importance. Had to make a last minute reservation at an alternative restaurant; elderly and disabled mother was struggling and two children with me were tired and starving. Wasted journey."

They called us on the day to cancel this booking as they had a problem with the gas. I’ve not seen it open since so I don’t know if they’re permanently closed now?!

Food was mediocre, low expectations so found it ok. Hard to get service attention. Food was also slow. Desserts were appalling. My friend is from Kolkata and was very disappointed!

I booked this restaurant for 21 December, 6pm through Opentable. When I arrived there with my family for my sister's birthday, the place was completely shut. It was so disappointingly not to havr been told in advance. Opentable needs to take this restaurant off its books immediately. View menu

I wanted to introduce my two friends to traditional Indian Bengali cooking of my heritage. Whilst I didn’t think the food was akin to my mother’s, it’s definitely delicious and good value for money. The cauliflower cashew and the prawn malai curry were exquisite. I found the service to be left wanting, not friendly or warm.

A real attempt to bring authentic Kolkata street food and Bengali cuisine to the heart of London. Tapas style menu allows diners to try a variety of different dishes. Staff friendly and helpful, if, perhaps a little amateurish. On the pricey side, but not surprising given the central location. Lovely decor, with some beautiful Kolkata memorabilia. I would prefer the music to be more traditional, but that is because I’m a sentimental “oldie”. I am always happy to recommend this restaurant ..... a unique dining experience.

We made a reservation weeks in advance for Diwali celebrations, and when we arrived on time, the restaurant was closed. To make matters worse, we received a reminder from OpenTable the day before asking us to confirm our attendance, and we replied that we would be there. There was no notice on the restaurant door explaining the closure. While we were standing outside checking our emails, another family arrived, just as confused, because they also had a reservation. We were left stranded and had to search for another restaurant at 7:30 PM on a Friday night in Covent Garden. Little Kolkata completely ruined our Diwali celebrations. Our advice? Don't bother! We took advantage of the Time Out offer at £16.95 and found the food to be delicious. However, we were less than pleased with the service, as the staff seemed lost, untrained, and confused, resulting in delays in our food arriving. We ordered thali, but there were no thali dishes available for serving, and to our disappointment, there were no prawns either. The bartender didn’t show up for work, leaving us with no drink options aside from wine. Overall, the experience was a chaotic mess. This establishment really needs to get its act together or reconsider operating as a restaurant. It’s a shame because the food is lovely (though not worth the full prices).

When I made the reservation, I mentioned that we were celebrating a 70th birthday, but the staff did not acknowledge this in any way. They did confirm my booking upon arrival, but that was the extent of it. The restaurant offers only three or four types of beer, and unfortunately, half of those were unavailable—naturally, the one we wanted was among them. While the starters were quite good and definitely worth mentioning, the main curry dishes didn't impress. My local Indian restaurant serves better dishes. Although the staff were pleasant, they seemed inexperienced overall. For a restaurant in Covent Garden, Little Kolkata fell short in both offering a special street food experience a...
