"Found this little gem while exploring the lake district. Yheres a nice farm trail/walk, 2 miles i think, we had a wee wander along, maybe half way. Easy enough riute would be great for dog walking. The farm shop has some wonderful stock. Could of spent fortune on cheese and bisuits! We had a cuppa and cake/scones at the cafe. The scones were the best cheese scones we've ever had and ghe cake slices were huge we saw the cows getting milked from the cafe window to which they use in the cafe if I remember correctly. You can pasteurised milk or raw milk and raw milk is available straight from a machine outside. The cattle grids to get in and out are lethal tho so take care taking your car over them!"

I stopped for lunch and had a "Farmers lunch", similar to a ploughman's, with a wonderful selection of local, fresh ingredients. It was delicious. Thank you!

I went to this restaurant for lunch today. The food was delicious, and all of us left feeling satisfied and happy! The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients.

The food is really well made and delicious. My husband is vegetarian and reports tge veggie burger is the best he's ever had. Cakes also amazing. My only criticism is the Welsh Rarebit (1 small slice of toast) was a very stingy portion size. Not good value for money. Glad we bought a side of wedges.

What a lovely little place. This is my first time coming here I was served by a lady called hazel who was very friendly and brought over my coffee and cake and had a quick chat with me. Lovely place and a lovely group of staff. A nice amount of product to look at. Will return to this lovely little farm shop and cafe

Low Sizergh Barn is a lovely spot to stop by, offering a cafe, meat counter, and a variety of local products including gifts and cards. While the prices may be a bit steep for some, the quality of the food and service is worth it. A visit may be considered a bit pricey for a small family, but overall, it is a nice place to enjoy some coffee and cake.

Used to love this place but the food seems to have gone downhill recently. We ordered the rarebit, expecting a lovely chunk of sourdough bread. A thin slice of white bread was not what we were expecting for £7.95. No taste of anything other than an unpleasant cheese texture on top. Still hungry after we had eaten it. Poor. Won’t be returning any time soon. Plenty of other options in the area. The one redeeming feature was the lovely cakes.

The tables are all so close together we felt squashed in our seats, they have too many tables for the size of the cafe. There was a big queue of people waiting for seats and unfortunately this was right by our table. Couldn’t relax at all not a pleasant experience. Table and condiments on table weren’t very clean. Ordered quiche, scones and Mac and cheese the quiche and scones were nice but the Mac and cheese wasn’t good very runny not very tasty.

Stopped for a hot drink on the way to our holiday accommodation. Plenty of room to sit and the hot chocolate was delicious! Ended up returning on our last day for lunch slightly busier but we didn't have to wait long for a table. We ordered via the app (much easier to use if you're memory is like a sieve!! and didn't wait long for food and drinks to arrive. Very good portion sizes and all tasted very good. We'd visit more often if we lived closer!!

After visiting the lovely farm shop we went upstairs to the cafe , where I ordered a vegetarian breakfast and my husband had a Cumbrian breakfast, they both came on greasy plates with the mushrooms swimming in oil , the bacon was crisped and frazzled and my vegetarian breakfast also contained some bacon ,!!! I gave the not so frazzled bacon to my husband and mentioned it to the young waitress, she replied” Oh well that shouldn’t be there” ,and that was the end of that , obviously our comment was not passed on to anyone else, I would have expected someone to come and explain as to why there was bacon on a veggie breakfast ! Complaint’s obviously aren’t taken seriously ,

"Staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. They were also very kind to our dog. We had drinks and food and though the drinks were good, the food was not. The words 'frozen ' and 'microwave ' were forefront in my mind throughout. The mash potato I had with my pie was face meltingly hot suggesting the microwave was used, and my wife 's battered fish was mushy and watery suggesting it was deep fried from frozen. The batter was also only about 1mm thick and was like wise mushy. The meat in my chunky steak pie was definatly chunky but was a little too firm (not tough, just not tender. Probably the wrong cut of meat rather than badly cooked). I then had the caramel apple pie as did another member of my party. While his was hot, mine was cold. I had mine with cream which when it arrived, had bubbles in and was luke warm. What I think happened was that mine was microwaved first and then drowned in cream and left to sit while the other was microwaved. This mean mine cooled in the cream while the cream warmed. It also meant that the pastry on the bottom went soggy, and from the rest of the pastry, it didn 't seem like it had much crisp to begin with. Now I know that times are hard and pubs like this can 't be expected to make everything from scratch, but there are 3 other pubs close by and unfortunately this one is doing nothing to stand out from the others, in terms of food anyway. Overall, a nice place for a quiet drink, but I 'll not be back for the food. The only saving grace was the price; £80 for 2 rounds of drinks (1 pint, 1 coke and 2 halves per round), 4 mains and 2 desserts...I suppose you get that you pay for though..."
