"Not impressed, We came here to celebrate my mum's birthday,to start with the tables were too close together, it was a very tight squeeze if anyone needed to get out, we had pre ordered our food but it still took a long time to bring the starters out, and then the mains, food was average, I personally left alot of mine as my chips were wet because of the water from the vegetables on the plate, twice we'd asked for water to be brought to the table and this didn't happen, on the third attempt it came, we also had to go to the bar to ask for more drinks as the service was poor, to be fair it felt like too many people and not enough staff. Unfortunately we won't return again because of this experience."

The staff are always welcoming, plus the food and drink is excellent. They were able to cater for carnivores and vegetarians in the same group, no problem!

Went as a group if 16. We pre-ordered. All the food came out hot and delicious. Excellent. Highly recommend to large groups as well as smaller family groups.

First off the house white is incredible! However the service was incredibly slow and the food was ok. We waited 45 minutes for our starters and then another 30 minutes for mains. When they arrived the steak was tough and the pizza was chewy. It was all a bit disappointing. View menu

We phoned to order takeaway pizzas. The person we spoke to rudely told us that he was too busy to do takeaway that evening, leaving us high and dry. If a restaurant offers takeaway it offers takeaway and should not deny customers the option whenever they feel like it. Never again.

Eight of us came here for an evening meal. The overall opinion is that it was very good. Starters were lovely. I had steak diane for my main course. The steak was a bit dry/overcooked and was a bit scorched on the outside. Next time I won't ask for it to be well done. Other than that everyone seemed quite happy.

Everything about this place is first class . A beautiful family run restaurant was an absolute super find . The service and atmosphere was so welcoming but the star of the show was the food . I had the T bone steak and it was second to none . And at such value . The rest of the tables dinner was just as mine was , outstanding 5 star all round . We traveled an hour for this restaurant and so glad we did. We will definitely be back with more friends View menu

Fantastic staff, nice traditional atmosphere, good food and very reasonable prices. We really enjoyed ourselves. The only reason for not giving 5star is that when we went to tip our fantastic waiting staff a generous tip and we were told they are NOT allowed to keep their tips and all tips go to a charity of the owners choice. This isn't legal or acceptable. If I want to pay my money towards a member of staff who has given great service then that's where I expect my money to go. I'm surprised the waiter had the incentive to give such a good service.

It is always a delight to find a genuine Italian restaurant deep in the suburbs of a British city, and Luigi's definitely hits the spot. Long-established and still run by the founder's family, it is evidently very popular with local residents, and it was full on the midweek evening when we went for dinner. We went on recommendation, and fortunately we had booked. Our main course was saltimbocca. Made with thinly sliced pork, rather than the more traditional veal, it was absolutely delicious. Two courses, two large glasses of wine, two coffees, and the bill came to less than £60. No wonder the locals like it so much!

"I went there for Christmas dinner with my partner and we had a horrible experience will never go again. My partner had steak which was lovely but the chips, onions, sauce and other accompaniments were cold. I had traditional turkey the only edible thing was the carrots and turkey! The roast potatoes were hard as rock and seemed either overcooked or cooked from frozen. The parsnips I couldn’t cut, cauliflower was hard and the pigs in blanket was so hard it couldn’t be cut. There wasn't even a yorkshire pudding. We complained just about mine and they brought me a new one but that was worse. In the end I only ate a few carrots and some turkey. I complained again when he came to ask how it was again. He said he would ask manager to come over, he took 15/20 mins in meantime my psrtmer had eaten his steak and I was just sat there. The manager offered to let us have our 1 drink each free plus one more round. I was grateful they had offered but it had still spoiled my Christmas and I was emotional as I work every year as a nurse on Christmas Day and cook when I get in (for 40 years) this was the only time I had been out for christmas dinner. It took 50 mins to clear our plates. I just wanted to go home but we had dessert to eat so I had that it was nice but was described as Eton Mess but it was just a big meringue with a dollop of cream on and about 2 strawberries chopped up no sauce at all. The server was nice but we couldn’t get anyone’s attention to get a drink even though we were the last sitting and the kitchen was closed, it wasn’t that busy. I am disappointed and even though they tried to help me it wasn't enough, when we paid £90 each. They warm everything up in the microwave I think apart from meat and fish that’s what it tasted like anyway."
