"Let's start out with the obvious- this isn't super fine dining. You're likely eating here on your way into or out of the Chateau at Versailles. Your options are essentially limited to tourist bistros. This is something you have to live with. That said, you could do much worse. My wife got breaded camembert atop a mixed greens salad, and then lasagna. Both were fine. I got rabbit terrine (pictured below) and steak frites. The terrine wasn't great, but the steak was honestly pretty decent. It came with shallots on top that were so cooked that they became essentially a compote. This was a a good thing. The wine that came with the meal was not great. The biggest issue I read in reviews of this place was with the service. These complaints come almost exclusively from Americans. Fun fact - restaurant and bar service in Europe is almost universally slower than in the states. If that's all it takes to ruin a meal for you, stick to Myrtle Beach. Knock this place for the average food if you want, but the service was totally fine. They've also got free wifi and are close to a Starbucks and the train station. Take all that together and I'd say this is one of your better options close to the Chateau.TL;DR food wasn't great but also was far from bad; restaurant met expectations in all other regards. Would recommend if you're in the area."

The food was overall pretty good, the waiter was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen seemed to have a hard time getting the food out. I had the duck, kids had the pizza

Croissant here is nicely done with mild buttery and flaky touch to it's surface perfected with very soft filling dough within. Stewed beef done medium and juicy, fantastic. From train station to Versailles palace, you would probably topping twice here. Good choice

We spent here very nice time having Ceasar salat, Fish with excellent sauce, and delicious Chicken grilled on French style-for someone it's not enough but we really enjoyed it. For the sweet end we chose Creme Brulee, which was good decision :)The atmosphere of the restaurant is very friendly and open.

My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant dinner here on our first night in Versailles. I had the duck confit which was excellent with roasted potatoes for a main and the price for the meal was reasonable. Service was excellent and the restaurant is directly opposite the Rive Gauche railway station which has a direct and frequent service to Paris on the RER line C. View menu

Food less than average. Service slow and unacceptable. They tried to pass off a flat and pre-opened coke and refused to remove it from the bill. After a heated discussion the boss agreed to supply a can of coke to take away. We then paid the bill in full to be told by the waitress that she wished us " a bad day". Not at all the service that we expect in France and a good reason to avoid this place at all costs.

We stopped for lunch on our way to tour Versailles. This restaurant is directly across from the train station and we figured it would cater to tourists so we weren't expecting much. We were wrong. The sole meuniere was the best we had during our 2 weeks in France - and we ate a lot of sole. Portions were generous. Service was good. It wasn't inexpensive but we got our money's worth because the food was so good.

We dropped in here several times on our visit to Versailles, for coffees, 2 lunches and one dinner. The food was good, well cooked, esp. the fish, on all occasions. Service was fine, no fuss no upselling. This was well frequented by locals, always a good sign of consistency. it is not fine dining, small tables, limited menu but well worth it. Certainly better value than some higher end places we looked at but ignored. View menu

No rude French waiter and he even speaks English, check. 15 Euro for 2 courses meal lunch - you pick plat principal (entrée for US hillbilly) and either entrée (appetizer) or dessert. One drink even included. Value check, much better than those places inside the Palace.Conveniently location just outside main RER train station. Food is quite solid and even appetizer is in good portion like herrings with potatos. Risotto with hams also included small salad in the plate. Daily specials are also good and if you choose more expensive item, they will adjust. No bad at all and I don't get the poor rating. Again if you are not happy here, there is Starbucks and fast food place next to this place but...

We stop for breakfast on our way to Versailles and it was our worst experience eating out in France. At 10 am the place was almost empty, several dirty tables and a waitress who didn't care much about our us being there. We ordered 2 different omelets, coffee and fresh orange juice. My omelet was really burnt on one side, as in it WAS black, as coal and then folded to hide the black side and served!!!! One bite and it was disgusting :-( We tried to get the waitress attention several times to ask for another one, but with no luck. My friend shared her omelet with my and hers were very soaky! After waiting half an hour for the waitress to return to us in a restaurant with 6 filled tables, we f...
