"I arrived at the restaurant around 2.30pm, hoping to enjoy a hot meal. When I went to order at the counter, a staff member seemed uninterested and simply stated that they had stopped serving hot food. There was no eye contact and she was quite abrupt. Despite the sign on the door indicating they were open until 4pm, I have frequented this place numerous times while passing through Machynlleth, but unfortunately, I will not be returning. I ended up going to a nearby cafe where I received a warm welcome and enjoyed hot food. This cafe will now be my new go-to spot when I am traveling."

Poor quality food, expensive. Sausage and egg batch cup of tea about £2 over the odds. Staff serving abrupt. Spend your elsewhere.

Good quality cafe. Prompt service, good value food. Toilets clean. Caters for all age ranges. No bells and whistles just homely food.

Fast efficient service, good choice of delicious food made with local ingredients expertly prepared by a team of enthusiastic staff. Particularly recommended on Machynlleth market days, Wednesday. Convenient location in the main street

I called in to Maengwyn Cafe today 25th Jan, 2020. Service and overall appearance including the toilets were excellent. The staff were very welcoming and my made to order sandwich was very good but coffee a bit weak. No wonder the cafe was busy. Well done. I will definately return Megan

We were passing through and decided to stop for breakfast. The food was well-cooked, piping hot, and made with fresh ingredients. The staff were friendly and spoke Welsh. It was a good sign to see lots of locals dining there. We have stopped here a few times before during our travels and will definitely be back again soon. Thank you. View menu

This was my first time dining at this restaurant since the pandemic began. I was impressed with the measures they have taken to ensure a safe dining experience for customers. The food and service were just as excellent as I remembered, and I especially enjoyed the ambiance of the historic back room. It was a bonus to visit on market day and see the restaurant thriving.

This is a good clean local cafe run by Welsh people. Lots of locals conversing in Welsh enjoying a variety of home cooking style meals. We called in for a coffee but would certainly return when next in Mach. The blackboard offers several casserole type British meals which are changed daily and there are veggie options. Menu has lots of British standards as well as sandwiches etc. Worth a try.
