"To preface this review, I am a very experienced restaurant owner and absolutely never write poor reviews about places but I have never been treated so poorly as my friend and I were at Marinehaus. The experience stared off friendly since my friend speaks some...German, but as soon as I spoke any english at all the entire treatment we received took a If you are an American, I highly recommend finding elsewhere to eat in the area. During ordering, I did not ask the server to translate anything for me at all, I simply asked her for her recommendations seems like a very common occurrence in the service industry and the blonde lady was immediately flustered and told me to use my phone translator, and despite the place being completely dead told me she “didnt have time to translate for me.” Again, I didn’t need anything translated at all, I was simply curious what she would recommend. After her stressful and embarrassing selfmoment, her and her two coworkers sat around the bar staring at us awkwardly as we ate our food and drank our beers. Apparently she had time to sit around staring and talking about us but was too busy to give recommendations. Towards the end of our meal, we noticed pictures of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara posted on the wall, which made us realize immediately that were were being discriminated against for being American which was honestly mind blowing. It became apparent that the employees of this place clearly have some serious issues with people of other beliefs. When it came to paying, I waited behind a german gentleman who paid with a credit card of some sort. When it was my turn to pay, the lady scoffed that they dont accept visa credit cards. In disappointment I went back to the table to tell my friend the unfortunate information. He then asked In German, to a different lady which credit cards they accept, and of course she said VISA, which he then proceeded to pay with. We also received more terrible attitude from the ladies upon exit. Other than being American and speaking english, I truly do not know what set these ladies off and made them treat us so poorly. However I do feel the need to let other tourists know our experience so they don’t receive the same discrimination and attitude we received"

The food was regular. No WiFi available despite saying there is. Not possible to have separate bills. The people don’t make effort to speak english. Should not receive tourists

We went there without booking, they offered us to stay at the bar, and then offered a table. The staff does not speak english or spanish, but they managed to understand us. Warm atmosphere, very Germanystyle food by the river. quiet neighbourhood. Nice

Really lovely food. The portions are enormous but truly delicious. They had three vegetarian options all sounded lovely. I had the potato omelette which was full of lovely veg and came with traditional German pickles, he had the pork medallions, which were great. Warm atmosphere,...top tip there is an English version of the menu on the drinks menu

Our hotel booked here for us, then after reading reviews on here we nearly cancelled. So glad we didn’t. We had wanted an authentic but good German restaurant and we were not disappointed. In addition to great food, the lady who served us owner? was...friendly and helpful and immediately provided us with English menus and spoke to us in English. Other, local, diners were also welcoming

in front of the restaurant there is an enterong point for sightseeing on a boat that takes about hours. After not a very impressive trip, the dinner had improved the atmosphere. The food is great, delicious, abundant in portions. A slight remark that...the servant is a bit slow, otherwise all praise. The place you have to visit, not because of the interior, but because of the good food View menu

When we asked for an English menu, they said that they don’t have! So answering to our second question how to understand the menu, google translate!!!! WTF???? I don’t care only about the food, I care about the attitude too! How difficult is to make...an English menu??? Or don’t give such stupid answer!!! And then is the WiFi! They say they have free but NO WiFi at all! So after dinner we asked for a coffee but the coffee machine was broken!!!

My wife and I stopped here after a long day sightseeing around Berlin. It is near our hotel and looked lovely with nice river views. On seating, I enquired if they accepted payment cards as for some strange reason, three other cafe food vendors...today have asked us to pay in cash ? This is really unusual but be aware of this possibility in Berlin . Anyway, we were informed they did and intended staying for a meal as well as drinks. I entered the bar area of the premises to see what beers were on offer as we were sat outside. I cannot begin to describe how unhelpful and unwelcoming the proprietor and waitress were. I fully appreciate there are language barriers and I accept I am not able to...
