"I recently went to Maximilians in Deggendorf with my family and was looking forward to a nice Sunday lunch with good food. The atmosphere was immediately inviting – the restaurant is stylishly decorated and we felt welcome from the start. The service was really excellent: the waitress was friendly, attentive and always there to make sure we didn't lack anything. I really can't complain about anything on this point. But unfortunately the Wiener Schnitzel – the “star” of my meal – did not live up to my expectations. I was looking forward to a tender, airy veal schnitzel that was perfectly souffled. Unfortunately, I was disappointed: the schnitzel had brownish black spots in places, indicating that it was probably over fried or not enough oil or butter was used. This meant that the schnitzel lacked its typical, slightly “bloated” breading and therefore lost some of its lightness and enjoyment. It was a real shame because I would have liked the quality of the schnitzel to have been able to keep up with that of the service and the ambience. Overall, it was still pleasant thanks to the great atmosphere and the wonderful staff but I simply expected more from the Wiener Schnitzel."

The Maximilians restaurant is really nicely designed. The food was super tasty and arrived at our table quickly. The service was quick and very nice. Unfortunately the volume was a bit loud, but I guess that can't be helped given the room. We can recommend everyone to eat there.

Yesterday evening we were passing through Deggendorf (from the corner of Mönchengladbach). I found Maximilian's via Google and the rest agreed. At 7:30 p.m. every seat in the beautiful looking interior was occupied, so we were given a table outside on the terrace with two lights so we could see something. It was a really nice evening, not least thanks to Moritz from Maximilian's, with whom we had a lovely chat and even got two schnapps for one of us on the occasion of his birthday super nice! The food was also absolutely delicious, plentiful and beautifully prepared the eye eats too! We'll be happy to come back when we stop in Deggendorf again next year. We had dinner with a larger group. The staff was very nice and friendly. Food and drinks arrived quickly and were freshly prepared. The dishes were very nicely prepared and the taste was convincing. The staff were very kind to the toddler we had with us and they even played with him so that the parents could sit in peace for a bit. Of course you don't expect that, but it was very, very nice. Everyone was consistently friendly. There was a water bowl for the dog straight away without us asking. I (autistic) felt very comfortable because it is a small restaurant and there is not a lot of noise and it is very well separated by curtain threads and therefore you have privacy.
