"Sunday afternoon tea at the Clarendon was quite nice. When we arrived we had to find the way to the restaurant by ourselves, easy enough, but not terribly obvious. Whilst the main dining room looked a little old fashioned, the area we we sat in, opposite a big fireplace (not a working one) and a big christmas tree was lovely. The table was ready and very Christmassy. The waiting staff was also very nice and accommodating. Plenty of choices of fine teas (in bags) and a really nice selction of finger sandwiches was provided (roughly 6 or so per person of 3/4 types). Alongside those we were given a couple of small pastries (one for each diner) and two of the most beautiful and fragrant scones I have ever had each. With those, clotted cream and jam. It was all very nice. The price was also great at £12.95 each (the same of a cocktail in central London). So why not 5 stars you may ask? Given what we had, the quality of the food and the quality/ price ratio, although it was not Claridges it would deserve top marks. Although this may not seem so important, but the relentless and excessive loud piano playing kind of spoiled the experience for us. It was virtually impossible even to hear my friend sitting next to me, let alone anyone across the table. And the playing just would not stop if not for a few minutes. In the end we left and moved to mine as most of us had a headache by then."

good food delivered by very friendly and attentive staff, not a huge selection of choices, and not ideal for vegetarians unless they like cheese but good quality and well cooked.

eating was in order, the service was very nice. in any case, pho does not compare in vietnam. the broth was a bit stale, the rare bark fresh but chewing. in consideration of quality, prices are on the high end.

they always enjoy a meal here. the staff is friendly, the service is good, and the eating is fresh with well balanced aromen. a friend of mine was very impressed by the pho, although the server of her desires for additional edgy, chili and other toppings bemust.

The starters were amazing. The people working were very nice and the service was good. They apologized because they were busy and the food would have been late a bit, meaning 10 minutes which for us was super ok. Very nice place, feeling like in a family place, very adorable, definitely will go back there

80th Birthday celebrated with Sunday lunch for thirty at the Carvery two weeks ago. Venue ideal location for rail, road bus transport as the party of thirty had travelled from a wide area. . Had tables by the windows in pleasant dining room. small children were able to run around in the garden . Dining room staff made everyone welcome,Service excellent food was enjoyed by all. Very appreciative of the efforts made by the staff, particularly Isabel(? , to ensure the day was a success including serving drinks dealing with the birthday cake in the garden. The bill was very reasonable too

the 5-star rating is first line for service. we came here a little late at night and had to wait for our table. about 15 20 minutes. in this time we sat, extra chairs pulled out to make space for us to sit down where it was warmer, we were brought glasses of water and free garnel wafer. all that was during waiting for our table. I've never had such a good service while I'm waiting in london. they asked if we like our drinks while we wait and brought our coffee. Once we have set ourselves, our appetizers appeared summer rolling beef packed in betel leaves. the summer rolls were beautiful, but I was amazed at the bark in the betel leaves. in india, the betel leaves are eaten raw to the mouth r...

"Me and my flatmates went to Naifs to celebrate one of our own's MA degree with a nice meal, and we are so glad that we did. Anne and the team were incredibly personable and friendly, which really stood out to us. As somebody who has worked many years in hospitality, one can tell that there is clearly a very tight-knit team at work here who does what they do out of and with love. We really enjoyed the concluding chat with the kitchen team about the amazingly delicious olive oil they served us with the bread it comes straight from the chef's uncle's olive plantation! The atmosphere was really lovely as well, and a lot of thought clearly went into it: there were lots of candles, soft light, beautiful serving plates. We found the decor very tasteful in general: the restaurant has a cozy, but elevated bistro feel to it which makes it the perfect place for a broad variety of occasions. We had the set menu, which at 27 GBP came at very good value. The menu really demonstrated just how colorful vegan and vegetarian spreads can be: the colors on the table alone were such a delight to behold! Needless to say it also all tasted amazing. We particularly liked the mushrooms in lemony broth, the dhal and the aubergine stew. Every dish had a creative spin on it that made it into something we had never tasted in that way before. The wine that was recommended to us was very nice as well. We finished our meal with a selection of British cheeses, which was very well put together. Naifs focuses on seasonal and regional ingedrients, which is another factor that really convinced us, and which is something that more restaurants should focus on. Whether you're a veggie or not: if you want to dine at an all around truly special place, you need to try Naifs. Keep up the awesome work, guys we will be back very, very soon."

"my friend and I went to capitulate for dinner to celebrate his birthday, as was capitula, we thought the only decent restaurant in blackheath. all the others seem to be pushing down quickly. we have been in the past often in the capitulas, and the food and services were good we had no appetizers and ordered only one main meal (black foam and black bell), because we were not huge hungry because we were eating a lot of birthday cakes earlier! we had a glass of wine and were offered a piece of bread. 35 minutes later we waited for our food. in this time no one came to ask if we were in order or offer us more drinks. I asked the manager if our food was ready. he said it would be 5 minutes without a statement of delay then disappeared 10 minutes later there was no sign of food or manager. That is why we decided to go because we lost interest in eating. we have to go and the manager came by. he told us the delay was due to a big party in the ground floor. this was not the case, there was a group of 8 people who had finished their meal for a long time. we were there earlier when it was much more business and the service was not so bad. while we waited, we saw a customer who had finished their meal, slipped £20 into the manager hand when he left. Perhaps the workers need bribe to provide good services? it is such a scandal, but another blackheath restaurant has become complicit and believes that it with the treatment of its customers without respect. I will vote for one with my feet and will not eat again in this restaurant. I will also leave everyone I don't know to go there"
