"Stumbled on this great little bar in Dortmund by accident on New Years Eve. Admittedly, we were a little unsure when we first entered, our attitude changed when we were greeted by nice friendly barstaff. Nearly all the staff spoken good English which helped as my German was not that good, to say the least It wasn't long before we became very comfortable here and began to relax and enjoy ourselves.Christopher, the bar owner, was very approachable and, even, took time out to make sure we were ok and spent time chatting to us.We choose to eat here, and the menu was very wide and varying. The menu is in German, but don't worry, as the barstaff will explain "what is what" if you are unsure. They explained it in a warm and friendly way, without being condescending. When the food arrived it was hot and of ample size. The clientele in the bar were also friendly, with many speaking English. Ok it was New Years Eve and you would expect everyone to be nice and friendly and enjoying themselves, but many spoke to us and at no time did we feel like a strangers. The whole experience at Mit Schmackes is a enjoyable and relaxing one, which we certainly did, and will be returning here the next time we are in Dortmund. My only regret is, we only found Mit Schmackes on our last night, and had we found it on our first night I don't think we would have gone anywhere else.I would like to finish this review by thanking Christopher and his team for making our New Year eve experience in Dortmund one of our most enjoyable ones for a long time."

Have a weekend in Dortmund and on Facebook's recommendation gone to the Mit Schmackes. Without reservation there was a table (with info before 21h). Very nice service (without exception), great ambience and great food! If I lived in Dortmund, Schmackes would be my tribal place!

We had an evening walk from were we stayed at Ringhotel Drees to Dortmund City center and back and we noticed this place by chance. What attracted us were all the BVB signs and decoration and a laid back feeling. Great atmosphere and very good service. Waitress was nice and friendly and spoke good English. Unfortunately, we arrived too late to be able to order dinner as well, but since we liked it this much, we stayed for drinks.

We met here with a few friends on a saturday evening, a few weeks after the opening. The atmosphere was cosy and the place not overly busy. At 7pm we managed to find a table for 5 without problems. The deco is 'industrial chic', which I really like: high ceiling, wood and metal. We had a few drinks and 4 of us also ordered food. The menu is interesting, not the usual german grub, although of course Schnitzel is available, and why not, if you really crave it. We ordered a risotto with tempura vegetables, tagliatelle with pesto and cherry tomatoes, a tatar, and a beef salad. The orders didn't take too long, or at least it didn't feel like. It was all well presented (except maybe the tatar, whi...

You have to think about the future as a football player. That was probably the professional Kevin Großkreutz. In active time, athletes do not earn badly; but for age you have to make your money good. However, the project was not on the departure of VfB Stuttgart to the 2nd. Bundesliga, where Großkreutz is currently engaged, assures the press representative for safety reasons. Planning started a long time ago. At that time he played for the BVB. Together with the entrepreneur Christopher Reinecke, he designed the concept of a rustic restaurant, which naturally also offers beer in addition to the Westphalian cuisine. Of course, the games of Dortmund and Stuttgart are shown in the local environ...
