"As we were passing through Tavistock on our way home we decided to stop at Morrisons for shopping and a meal as it was nearing 6 pm. I waited at counter until an assistant came to me. I said I wanted to order food and was told to do it at the till. Two assistants came behind the counter and went away without seeing to me. Eventually the same assistant who had directed me to the till came to take my order! I was then told that I could not order an All-Day Brunch (surely one of the most popular meals on the menu? as there had been no bacon that day. Having just completed our shopping in the store, including bacon, could some not have been either purchased or transferred to the café from instore? Having received our meals I must say that both were very nice (Sausage and Egg, Fish Chips BUT I was sitting with a view of the counter and what was happening behind. There is no dedicated “non-food handling” member of staff. One lady seemed to be in charge overall of the cooking and dealt solely with that. All the other assistants man the till, serve customers, wait on the tables and help with plating up the food. I saw an assistants go from handling the till, including cash payment, straight to preparing bread and butter, plating up burgers in a bun which they handled as well as guiding chips onto the plates with their hands. I don’t know the hygiene rating for The Café, but it would not have passed muster on our visit."

Glad I did not read some of the reviews before I visited here and then would have missed a delicious Lamb Shank Meal.

Good customer service but food is very bland. It’s like they use there cheapest products for there breakfasts. It fills you up but that’s about it View menu

Been lots of times and found it good but today was the opposite. Bacon overcooked. Mushroom undercooked. Egg hard. Hash browns raw inside. Everything luke warm. So disappointed.

Dropped in at 4.15, restaurant quiet at this time. Husbands Lasagne was very dark brown.black on the top and all around the dish as if it had been overcooked or warmed up. He said the body of the Lasagne was OK so ate it. Staff were very friendly. View menu

We stopped off at the Tavistock Morrisons for a quick bite to eat on our journey back home. We often eat at our local Morrisons and have always had good meals. However, at Tavistock the poor chef was rushed off his feet and his sullen female colleague wasn 't helping him. She had no sense of humour nor willingness to support him or clear tables etc and didn 't utter one word to us as she rang our items through the till and took our money. The chef was not in a kitchen behind the scenes but was working in the area visible to customers. He was reheating what appeared to be pre packed curries and there were empty containers abandoned on the side this didn 't offer the customer the impression of...

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
