"Met some friends for breakfast this morning. Been here several times and it's always been lovely. However, I was horrified today, to hear the Manager call one of the staff members in from outside to not only shout at him in front of all the other staff members, but loud enough for all of the customers who were sitting outside to hear. I appreciate that sometimes you need to have a word with members of staff, but surely you take them to one side and talk to them discreetly instead of bellowing at them so all of the customers could hear. The poor boy was only young and if I was his Mother I'd be horrified. Everybody has to learn it just takes some people longer to learn than others and I dont think bellowing and shouting in front of everybody helps. This really upset me and has put me off visiting again."

Lovely tea room off the beaten track. The young lad who served us was friendly and accommodating. The food was good, not a massive menu but tasty and well presented

Delicious food, friendly staff and lovely location! Found this place well out for a walk, didn't have a booking but staff welcomed us to sit outside. Quick service and very fresh food.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was fantastic and I will definitely be returning. The cakes were delicious and I especially enjoyed drinking tea from a proper cup and saucer.

Great place for a reward after a walk, or simply a well deserved coffee and cake. Excellent value lunches plus afternoon teas. Ideal for a treat. Ser in a picturesque village of Papplewick. Car parking available at the rear of the tea room. Delightful garden area with plenty of extra seating. Well worth a visit.

Morton's Tea Room is the perfect spot for a small family gathering. The full English breakfast is delicious and a great deal. Be sure to make a reservation for your group as they tend to fill up quickly. The staff is friendly and attentive, making for a great dining experience. We especially appreciated the thoughtful birthday card.

I have visited this tea rooms and always marvelled on how good it is. Today, yet again, the staff went more than was expected and I thought it was time to put pen to paper. I have been as part of a large group and like today, just two of us. We sat outside in the beautiful courtyard and enjoyed our food. They even fetched the dog a clean bowl of water. Cannot recommend this beautiful village tearooms , other than compare it to a five star establishment View menu

I am very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The service was dreadful and unfriendly. The chairs were wet and we were not allowed to use their cushions. When we tried to order outside, the waitress from the front of the shop came out and told us she couldn't take our order. Despite not being busy, she refused to bring cutlery over to our table. Her rude attitude and lack of interpersonal skills made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

My partner was given a voucher for an afternoon tea as a birthday gift. She believed the expiry date was April 2025 as it certainly looked like that at first reading on the voucher. Having got it out to organise a booking, she realised that it could be April 2023 so contacted the venue to explain. The answer she got back was that they would not honour it as it is only valid for a year. There was no attempt at mitigation or even good grace. I can't speak for the quality of the afternoon teas or the general staff, however, first impressions of how this company operates leave a nasty taste. I would not discourage anyone from using or visiting these tearooms but I would suggest that buying gift...

"I went there for Christmas dinner with my partner and we had a horrible experience will never go again. My partner had steak which was lovely but the chips, onions, sauce and other accompaniments were cold. I had traditional turkey the only edible thing was the carrots and turkey! The roast potatoes were hard as rock and seemed either overcooked or cooked from frozen. The parsnips I couldn’t cut, cauliflower was hard and the pigs in blanket was so hard it couldn’t be cut. There wasn't even a yorkshire pudding. We complained just about mine and they brought me a new one but that was worse. In the end I only ate a few carrots and some turkey. I complained again when he came to ask how it was again. He said he would ask manager to come over, he took 15/20 mins in meantime my psrtmer had eaten his steak and I was just sat there. The manager offered to let us have our 1 drink each free plus one more round. I was grateful they had offered but it had still spoiled my Christmas and I was emotional as I work every year as a nurse on Christmas Day and cook when I get in (for 40 years) this was the only time I had been out for christmas dinner. It took 50 mins to clear our plates. I just wanted to go home but we had dessert to eat so I had that it was nice but was described as Eton Mess but it was just a big meringue with a dollop of cream on and about 2 strawberries chopped up no sauce at all. The server was nice but we couldn’t get anyone’s attention to get a drink even though we were the last sitting and the kitchen was closed, it wasn’t that busy. I am disappointed and even though they tried to help me it wasn't enough, when we paid £90 each. They warm everything up in the microwave I think apart from meat and fish that’s what it tasted like anyway."
