"I honestly expected amazing things when I ordered a custom cake for my boyfriend for his 23rd birthday. After seeing the amazing cakes they produce I put in an order, sending reference photos and description of how I wanted the cake but collected it today feeling like my cake was missing that amazing appearance I've seen from their others. I requested a cake covered in brick wall, only 1/3 of the cake has that on and the rest is just plain white buttercream, I also requested an amazing and colourful graffiti piece (shown in reference photo sent to them) to go on the cake! This was not portrayed at all... the graffiti is a small paper looking design, different colours than in the reference and completely different style/font, unfortunately nothing similar to the photo shown from me and this was honestly so disappointing. I paid £45 for a cake I was so excited to collect and gift to my boyfriend, only to leave feeling slightly ripped off and sad. I would've appreciated it more for them to tell me if they couldn't do the design I wanted and then I would've not ordered."

"I visited this caffe several times. once with my father, once with my friends and recently alone. all men of color. I have always found the personal or the owners to be very dismissed from me, rude and abrupt, but nevertheless friendly with all. Caucasian guests around me. they ask to clean my tellers away when there are still food in them, but not even an eyelid with those who have empty tellers and were there for one. the only difference is my skin color. I always feel excited and despised. I see the friendly tone they keep around with others, but I'll never be greeted in a nice way. they have been abrupt and rude at every occasion, and they make clear that they are. it is very frustrating for me as I am in the regular very passiw and the dinge let go and it takes a lot to complain to me, but I am very disappointed now. I felt this at all three places I visited and that was not only noticed by me, but by my company, without even mentioning how I feel! I am very disappointed as there is a nice caffe and served decent eating and coffee, so I have always tried to give this place a chance. I am not aware of whether those who run this caffe have a subconscious pretension or behave so consciously. I have all tried to give this place a chance and will not be visited again."

"We chose to dine in, it had seating but it's predominantly a take-away service so there were three tables to choose from. The service was quick and polite, with food being freshly made. We arrived not long after Umami opened, so the staff serving made sure the table we at was wiped down and clean for us. The food was said to be out roughly 15 minutes from ordering but it came out quicker than that. My sister ordered teriyaki tofu bento with duck oishi steamed buns (eyes bigger than her belly! Whilst I had tempura aubergine with vegetable gyoza. My sister enjoyed the bento buns, flavouring was lovely, generous amount of everything! She almost fell in love with the buns after one bite and her inner gollum came out. The tempura was very hot, but light enough to not feel stuffed as was the gyoza, pleasant and definitely able to enjoy everything. "Good food...when it finally arrived. We've been here twice now as a family of four. Both times there were spare tables so the kitchen wasn't overwhelmed but the service was so so slow! We thought the first time was just a bad night but after a repeat performance we definitely won't be coming back. It took 1.5hrs for the mains to arrive and we had to ask where they were. Every other table had eaten their mains so the kitchen was literally just cooking our meal. When I asked where it was, the young man asked another member of staff but noone bothered to come and apologise or update us as to where our meals were. Such a shame, nice food but won't be going back."

"This was my second visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the first visit was better than the second. The wrong burger was brought out initially, but a replacement was given along with extra fries. We were overcharged when we were leaving, but the mistake was rectified and a refund was given on my card. We had to pay a £5 deposit per person to book their bottomless breakfast/brunch, but this was refunded in cash when we paid. The drinks listed are only bottomless. The French toast breakfast was much larger than expected, and my friend struggled to finish it. Overall, my previous visit during the summer had gone smoothly. Parking was limited, but we didn't have an issue finding a spot as it was quiet when we visited."
