"Visiting family in Huddersfield, we decided to have breakfast at Northern Tea Rooms which turned out to be a mistake!! I ordered soy flat white coffee only to be advised they don’t “do” soy !! I didn’t bother having a drink but ordered egg on toast which was seriously plain and boring. The youngest member of our family had sponge cake which was so dry that it remained un eaten and another member who is a coeliac ordered gluten free cheese on toast having checked out the menu before arrival but on ordering was told that there was a mustard ingredient that made the meal glutinous. This cafe needs to get with the program and offer more options. We left and found a cafe which provided me with the fix I needed especially first thing in the morning"

Superb independent cafe in the centre of Huddersfield. Huge range of teas and coffees and great freshly prepared food. The Northern Rarebit is to die for!

I came with friends for bunch and I had sourdough with whipped feta and beetroot which was delightful. They also do a really great oat milk flat white here, would highly recommend for oat milk coffee lovers View menu

I went to this restaurant for the third time and once again everything was amazing. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious, and as someone with celiac disease, the variety of dishes for both coeliacs and non-coeliacs was impressive.

Lovely afternoon tea with a good choice of sandwiches and savouries and cakes especially the scones. Coffee was delicious too and service was great with the kitchen being able to change the order due to a dietary requirement with no fuss. Def would recommend a visit

Perfect late lunch. Ambience and hospitality were first class from all concerned. Special mushroom and rosemary frittata was delicious as was the Bacon and Egg on sourdough (without hollandaise). Good selection of cakes to compliment the range of coffees and teas. We spent a long time chatting, eating and drinking without feeling in anyway rushed. Felt like home from home. Highly recommended. I recently visited this charming little restaurant for breakfast/brunch and had a fantastic experience. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, especially the man who served our table. My family and I were all impressed with the food - I had poached eggs and bacon on toast which was cooked to perfection. The dishes arrived fairly quickly after ordering, and there was also a great selection of cakes and treats available. I highly recommend this spot and will definitely be returning in the future.

I went to this restaurant with my granddaughter for the first time today, but we will definitely be returning. We were seated promptly at our preferred table, given menus right away, and our order was taken quickly. I was unsure about which tea to choose, but the young waiter recommended the jasmine tea, which was served in a beautiful teapot with a cup and saucer. It was delicious and I highly recommend it. The food didn't take long to arrive - I had the olive and feta salad, while my granddaughter had the soda bread, salmon, and rocket salad. Both dishes were very nice and unique. The decor of the restaurant was also very different and interesting, which we both enjoyed.
