"I contacted Not So Secret Suppers asking for their supper club dates in November with a view to booking for my 50th birthday and they very kindly offered me their home and expertise for a private dining experience just for me and my guests. We...started cocktails on the beach while we watched the firework display which helped make it a truly memorable evening. My guests had a choice of dishes for each course, and I had great fun choosing the selections from their extensive range. The food was fabulous, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals prepared and served by the singing chef (who even personalised the lyrics of the songs he was singing) and his lovely wife whose specialty dish was the roast potatoes. With my friends surprise invasion to make it a themed dinner party it really was the perfect celebration."

The food was absolutely divine. To be waited on for a whole evening is a real treat, its unique dining experience being a great idea to socialise and be serenaded by the singing chef. Good luck with your new venture you will definitely do well,...your food and service speaks for itself

Beautifully cooked food, a great homely atmosphere, fantastic company and to top it off the chef sings. What more could you want? I also think the value was really good at £35 considering it is fine dining. I had swordfish, scallops and a dessert of...chocolate torte, with a few of the chefs surprise mini treats thrown in it really is a steal.

We had an amazing time at this restaurant! We booked a private party for 12 people and were able to sit wherever we wanted. It was amusing to see the staff coming in through the back entrance near the bins. They were very friendly and talented in the kitchen, and we enjoyed hearing them sing along to music. Jo, our host, was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Jon and his team catered for a family birthday celebration on Christmas Eve in Brooklands Barn where we were staying for Christmas. The whole experience was magical. The team arrived on time, calmly prepared the food and served it with a friendly professionalism. Everything was...exactly as promised, with the additional magic of Jon singing as he cooked wonderful. And they cleared up afterwards! Would recommend them any time.

We had a lovely evening at this restaurant, which had a diverse crowd of people. Jon and Jo welcomed us warmly into their establishment, where we enjoyed delicious food while being serenaded with wonderful singing. We started with cocktails and then moved on to a three-course meal that was full of tasty dishes. The restaurant also made a donation to a local charity that helps homeless people, which was a wonderful gesture. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable way to start the long weekend. Thank you!

This was our first visit to Not So Secret Suppers. We met six others, and fortunately they were a similar age to ourselves plus 10 minus 20. The conversation was good, the food was excellent. For the starter I had Scotch quails eggs, done to...perfection, the meat casing was perfectly cooked through and the egg was beautifully soft. My main of Pork tenderloin with parsnip puree, was perfection, very tender and juicy. The desert of Rhubarb meringue was a lovely counter to the main with a delicious tarte rhubarb and sweet custard home made of course). A very pleasant evening all round.

Really well looked after from first to last. Starting with an interesting little canapé to go with my introduction Moscow Mule nice kick there folks! And on through numerous courses to coffee and desert wine. The setting is particular interesting. Modern, beautifully furnished, and...decorated with the works of local artists. And so welcoming. And the singing. I hadn't realised just how talented Jon was. Listening to the background vocals, thinking Johnny Mathis or Burt Bacharach' on the turntable, turns out to be our host. And the company. Maybe we were all just lucky that night, but a more interesting group of strangers I have yet to find. Well done both of you.

two of us have not experienced us before this type of facility. select the dishes they want in the menu, and pay a deposit on the line. at the arrival we were served a cocktail and presented to the other diners (max....12) we all shared a rectangular table that was difficult to talk to the people at the other end. every cure was delicious and we couldn't owe it. although we were well with the other diners, we were ready to go until 10 o'clock. we thought, however, that it could be considered rude, so that we waited a little longer. we would rather sit alone, but we know that this is not part of the experience. my price is based on eating and the beautiful vocal of the cook!

We were all excited to reunite after many years, but the experience at the restaurant was not as we had hoped. The access to the restaurant was difficult during the day, with uneven steps both outside and inside the dining area. The highlight of the meal was the main course, but we were disappointed by overcooked green beans, boiled carrots, and some new carrots served in a dry Pyrex dish. The fish was also overcooked and lacked sauce. Some of us compared the meal to school cafeteria food. To make matters worse, four out of the twelve guests had to sit on foldable chairs with a wobble. It was a very disappointing experience. The chef should stick to cooking and leave the singing to someone e...

"I would first like to start out by saying that this is a gorgeous little cafe, with very friendly staff and great options for everyone. I have been eating at The Orchard for a couple of years, and have loved it. I am plant based, and have always found their vegan options to be brilliant! However, last week I accidentally ate meat for the first time in 6 years due to fault of the chef. Twice in a row, I have visited and ordered a vegan) seitan Reuben sandwich, and have been served the real meat version instead, which I believe contains corned beef traditionally. Luckily for me, the first time this happened, the waitress noticed before I could even eat any, and they replaced it quickly. I understand these things do happen, and am a big believer in second chances, so I went back recently. I ordered the same sandwich, and took 3 mouthfuls before realising something tasted unfamiliar, so I checked inside and found real meat. I was devastated when I realised, and so was the waitress and manager. The manager refunded our total bill, and was incredibly apologetic and mortified that it had happened. I know this wasn't any fault of the front of house staff they listened carefully. I feel like I can't go back, unfortunately, as I can't risk eating meat again. And I'm really sad that's the case, because this was one of my favourite spots to eat and I'll miss it so, so much!! I hate to rate a small business poorly, but I really felt I needed to warn any non meat eaters, as I can only imagine how much more devastating it would be if this happened to someone that gave up meat for religious or allergy reasons. If you eat meat then there's no need to worry, as this place is fantastic otherwise. If the cafe replaces their chef then I would love to come back one day... :"
