"I went for lunch and requested a sausage sandwich, but they informed me it was only available on the breakfast menu. My friends ordered a sausage, egg, and chips, as well as a sandwich. When I asked why they could provide all the individual ingredients for a sausage sandwich—like bread, butter, and sausage—but couldn't make the sandwich itself, they told me it was only for breakfast items. Frustrated, I returned to our flat and made my own! Service rating: 3/5."

The team here is wonderful. I dined in and had a great experience overall. The service was excellent, earning a 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere was also top-notch, with a perfect score of 5.

I'm all for supporting local small businesses, but when they start charging £6 for two teabags that's disgraceful. The menu said it was £3 for a one person pot of tea. We ordered 2 teas so they just stuck 2 teabags in a small pot! It wasn't even loose leaf tea or anything.

"Good selection on the menu. For starters we had the celeriac and the scallop, for mains the hanging seafood skewer and the muscles. All were very well done. Not exceptional but very good. No complaints about any of the food. We shared a cheese board, only comment would be there could have been a tad more cheese, though this is a pretty common issue with restaurant cheese boards. The wine choice was also good, and lots of choices of good wines by the glass. Service was very friendly, nicely informal. Didn't feel rushed, we were seated for a tad over 2 hours for 3 courses. Positive feedback for the toilets, very clean!! The aspect we scored least was value. Not really specific to On The Quay, but generally we've noticed how much more it costs for a 3 course meal with drinks. All in all a very pleasant evening."

"Eaten there twice previously and never managed to book a table in the restaurant. Booked this time via Open table a week in advance so was really disappointed when we arrived and was told no reservation exsisted even tho I had the reservation in my emails? Although the guy found us a table in the bar, we were often missed due to where we were sat (between two pillars). Service was pretty dire although polite. Offered a desert menu after the starter,???mains turned up and no cutlery, we had to request a drink after being seated for over 10 mins because we were never asked initially. All in all a very disappointing experience where by sitting in the bar you felt like second class compared to the restaurant guests. The whole reason we booked a table was to avoid this kind of thing. Almost certainly will never recommend or return."

"Due to excellent experiences at this restaurant previously, yesterday evening we took our family to celebrate our daughter’s 18th birthday. The food was absolutely delicious. Across three courses it was pure heaven! Our party was made up of those who regularly eat at higher end restaurants as well as farmers who love a good feed, and everyone was happy! "Longstone is situated a 30-minute walk from Hugh Town, with a small car park available. It is a great spot for families with young children, offering swings, a climbing frame, and a spacious play area. The restaurant has plenty of tables with sun shades for outdoor dining. The menu is similar to other cafes on the island and our order was promptly delivered. Accessibility may be challenging for those with mobility issues. The food was fresh and reasonably priced, with their crab sandwiches being a standout item."
