"It was very difficult to narrow down one place to dine at in Bologna, famously known as La Grossa being the heart of Emilian-Romangnan cuisine, but after some research, I narrowed it down to Osteria al 15. I had the front desk of my hotel in Rome call the restaurant to secure dinner reservations for my partner and my sister. It is further south of the historic center, but still walkable back to the train station where we needed to be for our train back to Florence that night. But it is in a charming residential neighborhood. We were greeted by our server who spoke excellent English and seated in a charming nook in the main dining room. As the osteria specialized in traditional Emilian-Romangnan cuisine, we did not stray far from the path. Dinner was perhaps one of the most delicious and flavorful that I had in all of Italy, which is saying something. We started with some traditional bread known as crescentine which were wonderfully pillowy and accompanied that with whipped ricotta and balsamic vinegar, and squacquerone cheese and lard pesto. Please be aware that pesto in Emilia-Romangna (lard based) is VERY DIFFERENT from pesto from Liguria (basil and garlic based). My partner had the tagliatelle with mushrooms and my sister had the tagliatelle with bolognese ragu. I started with the regional gramigna with sausage ragu. It was the best plate of pasta I had during my entire trip to Italy. My partner had the vegetarian lasagna for a main plate, having explained to the server he was vegetarian, and it was delicious. My sister and I split the pork shank with roasted potatoes and that was very filling. This was perhaps one of my favorite food experiences for the trip."

Locale rustico ottimo per gustare piatti tipici. Eccellente rapporto qualità prezzo, cena per persone (antipasto, bis primi, secondo e dolce) al costo di a testa. Consigliatissimo.

Highly recommend! Friendly waitress and extremely fast service. We ordered the neatballs and potatoes, small portion but tasty and the mascarpone and chocolate salami for dessert which was absolutely delicious.

Si trova in un vicoletto del centro storico, è conosciuta anche per aver partecipato al programma ristoranti”. L’arredamento all’interno è molto bello, il soffitto con i fogli di giornale mi piace particolarmente. Personale cortese e gentile. Ho particolarmente apprezzato il vino della casa, buone le crescentine, gli affettati un po’ meno. Consiglio di provare il tris di primi, in particolare le tagliatelle al ragù non possono mancare. Le polpette non mi sono piaciute. Locale accogliente, la classica trattoria ma ben curata dove molti sono i dettagli di Bologna che arricchiscono le pareti. Famoso per aver partecipato a Quattro ristoranti di Alessandro Borghese. Per quel che riguarda la cucina cosa dire: antipasto ottimo, salumi di qualità accompagnati da tigelle, crescentine, ricotta, squaquerone, figgione e pesto Modenese. Per i primi noi abbiamo scelto un tris (lasagna al forno, tagliatelle al ragù e Gramigna alla salsiccia) uno più buono dell'altro. Per secondo dato le porzioni abbondanti abbiamo fatto un assaggio (due piatti in sei) di cotoletta Bologna con patate, davvero super!!!
