"My family and I were in Waldshut for shopping and decided to stop at this restaurant after walking around for a while looking at available places to eat. Our selection of this place was based on the fact that they had outside sitting, served pizzas and pasta (what we were after) and were located close to the exit of the main street. We were seated outside as requested, and the server was cordial when I requested another table, under the large umbrella, as it was threatening to rain. The menu is basic Italian: pizzas, pastas, various meat and fish dishes and typical desserts. The waiter came by and after listening to me struggle with German, switched his speech to English, which I thought was nice. My son and I ordered pizzas, while my wife and daughter orders tortellini. We ordered some wine, which they have available in a half carafe, which is nice. Sometimes, you want more than just a glass, but a bottle is just too much. These half carafes are great. Not the best wine, of course, but quite decent, and perfect for the occasion. The drinks were served pretty quickly, soon followed by the food. Overall, I found the quality of the food to be good. Of course, it it not the best Italian food ever, and I have had better pizzas. But it was good. I tasted my wife's tortellini and they were pretty good. They were quite big, and I prefer the smaller version, but they were tasty. We did not order dessert.Overall, I was satisfied with this restaurant. I rated as average, because that is what I believe it is. However, in some cases, average is just fine. Would I go there for a special occasion, birthday, anniversary, etc.? No. But would I eat there again if I am there for a shopping trip? Sure. The food was pretty good, decently priced compared to restaurants in Switzerland, and the service was pleasant and attentive. If you are looking for a decent place to grab a pizza or pasta, you can't go wrong there. They also have a wide selection of gelato (Italian ice cream), which we unfortunately did not take advantage of. Next time, maybe. Enjoy!"

Picked up pizza partly completely run, wait until pick-up indicated at 25 minutes, waited on site another 25. 5 minutes before the end of the lunch break we were able to start eating (after we had retired our coating... . Total experience modest.

We visited this nice restaurant located at the old city. The food is fresh and very good, service friendly and professional. The portions large and delicious. There is a nice sitting terace outside in a pedestrian area or you can sit at second floor with in a warm and nice ambiance. Great choice of dishes. Higly recommendet. View menu

We were on the first floor of the restaurant Osteria Ars Vivendi. Yes the restaurant lacked the Italian ambience. That was something different. In our opinion, the real Italian sophistication is missing when eating. The food was good but not what we had hoped for. For this reason, two star triggers. Operation was top. The restaurant is very clean. Prices are fine.

Small but fine restaurant. With not too big a menu, but absolutely fresh ingredients! The pizza tastes like from the wood stove, on the seafood pizza are fresh mussels and whole giant cloves. Very friendly staff. We did not reserve on a Wednesday evening, the place would have actually been booked, but the waiter made it possible that we were after approx. 5 minutes waiting time got a table. Great Italian coffee!

Only a table left for two persons between 18h and 19h. Therefore or not, a quick information and an even better service. Ordering what the person on next table did choose. Unfortunately a misunderstanding between me and the waiter let the wrong dish appear on the table. But as quickly it has been changed to the right one. Just too delicious a tres di pasta! The open red wine also marvelous. So we did eat and appreciate the evening at his max. View menu

After being to Osteria Ars Vivendi for a few times I can confirm the great food we had there the first time wasn't a fluke. Everything we tried was delicious, but I reserve a special spot for the Suppa di Pesce: literally the best fish soup I ever had, with a mix of different kinds of fish and prawn, delicious toast and a creamy consistence it's always a treat. Pizzas are also especially good as is pasta. The service was also great every single time, though I should mention that we always sit upstairs, inside. All in all a great place to eat in the nice historical city center.

Since this restaurant is located on the sales street that is not allowed to drive and it definitely has not only a few but no parking spaces at all, it is recommended to use the car park at the other end of the road. Also a reservation is urgently recommended because even under the week it is very well occupied because the food is really excellent and, of course, compared to Switzerland and not at all mentioning Zurich prices are almost still ridiculous and the quality is almost justifiable. In addition, the portions are really plentiful to very large, such as the salads and other portions, because even if you like a lot is hard to drop a salad and a main course really to finish. Since it is...
