"July 20/2022: Great dinner in the middle of Lucca, Italy. Here's the blow by blow...Service was excellent. My food was the Asiago W Mushrooms. Right up my alley. Delicious. My main was a typical Tuscan dish of stewed beef with black pepper, herbs tomato sauce with polenta. Indescribable delicious. Moist, tender, and scrumptious. I'm thinking this is the best meal I've had in Italy! Lost a star cause my dining partners ravioli was salty al-dente neither are the way she likes it. I'd do this over again for sure."

Amazing food, great wine, location is right off the main square not too busy, ambiance is wonderful. Has the tagliatelle Lucchesi and a bottle of 2015 Brunello highly recommend

The food was like a cheap cafeteria style. Not even the salad was good. Beef stew was dry, tomatoes in the salad were unripe and the ravioli was like a pre-made supermarket one. Very disappointing and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

It's always good to trust a recommendation from a local. That was exactly what I did when I bumped into this man on Fillungo who recommended Osteria Baralla. The wine and pasta were delicious and were a perfect lunch meal for a perfect day in Lucca. View menu

Certificate of excellence on the door but to be honest, the food is not very exiting and complex. I loved the local soup but the salmon i ordered was very basic and without any complexity that you can experience in Tuscan cuisine. Risotto of my wife was not very exciting as well.

Impressive building, great fresh food served quickly by really excellent staff, and the manager is immensely entertaining. The wine selection is great and if just having a glass then you won't be disappointed by the size of the offering. The risotto was amazing and the deserts were just as delicious. Reasonable prices as well, €53 for two people having two courses.

Great dinner steps away from the piazza. House wine was excellent. The highlights of the meal were the beef stew, beetroot ravioli and tiramisu. These three things were just incredible! The pate, Asiago artichokes and cacio e Pepe were good but not excellent. The risotto was kind of bland and liquidy. Service was great. Prices were great. Overall a wonderful experience! View menu

One of the best restaurants in Lucca. This place is usually mostly full even on slow weekdays during the winter. The inside ambience is very nice and the old brick ceiling of the structure is very charming. The food is very good with a nice variety. I recommend the artichoke and melted cheese appetizer as well as the tortelli and you find some desserts different from just the average ones you find everywhere else.

Everything about this restaurant I loved. The atmosphere, the service, the ambiance, the history. But especially the PESTO which is homemade and hands down the BEST pesto I've ever tasted. I can't even describe the intense richness of the pesto. The first bite my eyes rolled back into my head and my tastebuds were in heaven. The official restaurant name is Osteria Baralla was established in 1860 and is located in the Mid-evil District of Lucca,.
