"This place is a gem situated in the beautiful Centovalli region. Christa and Roland are your hosts in Osteria Grutli. They have a love for art and music and culture, and this is what sets Osteria Grutli apart. This and the fact that eating there is a gastronomic delight! A sign outside the Osteria says 'No Coke, no French fries, no Heineken'. There is no room on the menu for such things when you have the finest of local produce. When we were there we saw the bee keeper deliver the local honey, and the fisherman arrive with his catch of trout! The food is accompanied by the finest of wines, and you can also sample the local Grappa! The atmosphere in Osteria by night is delightful - candlelight, a log fire, good company. We stayed there too - our room had a little balcony from which we could enjoy a view of the Alps. They have four rooms - each one uniquely decorated with art work created by Christa and Roland or some of their artist friends. During our stay, we took the Centovalli train line - from Camedo to Locarno - unbelieveably scenic. Osteria Grutli is a rare find, and you will never forget your visit there!"

15 years ago, we stopped in this inn for a meal out of the ordinary.15 years later, the tenants changed but the spirit remained, dishes and local drinks, only organic...We ate a lamb plate accompanied by polenta rose sprinkled with a Tessinian merlot.Bref, if you pass in the area and you are looking for a nice grit hostel for a meal, don't hesitate

A very pleasant lunch in this restaurant in Camedo, on the main road through this valley side city street not so busy when we were there. There was a choice of net, see photo. We sat under a vineyard on the street. The service was good and they spoke English, I paid contactless costs of meal Swiss Francs 60, £54) i aldehyde pay in SF, as I find the exchange rate is better.

We randomly stumbled over this restaurant after a morning spent in one of the valleys over Camedo. Our plan was to have only one drink, but the menu looked so tempting that we decided to stay for lunch. The meal consisted of home made pasta followed by a delicious home made panna cotta and was served on a beautiful, vine shaded terrace opposite the hotel. Service was friendly and welcoming. the osteria is very comfortable and good, especially in the evening at the round table. but we were in the garden over midday. the selection is polenta with sausages, mushrooms or trout. the polenta rosso is quite fad, who likes sausage has at least a bit of a spice from there, the tender but also fade forelle but does not make it better. all at a rather high price-performance ratio.Over midday not recommended for me, may be that the evening in the round table in the cozy osteria is atmospheric.

we have landed on the way through this restaurant and were first somewhat irritated as there is no map. Instead, you will fall on the no’s (no cola, no pommes, no creditcards) restaurant as an art / project, who is interested in it finds more information in the internet. we were hungry and thirsty, thanks to gazosa "no cola" was not a problem, but it was then very special and unfortunately totally faded, the portions were very small, eternally, all this was also part of the art and we did not understand it;-)

located on the road after the one hundred valleys coming from locarno just before the border with Italy, the local and small internally but offers an external terrace. the food is good and at km 0 (good although small the trout.) only problem the price a little high for what is offered. water, mixed salad for two people, a salty cake, a trout with red polenta and a coffee 50€! Well, guys okay that the food is genuine, but the price seems a little bit exaggerated. still pleasant atmosphere and friendly managers. View menu

A new host is running the osteria Grütli. It has been discretely renovated which leaves a lot of the original building and its character. The cuisine is home-made and offers a choice of typical local dishes. Prices are reasonable (when thinking in overvalued Swiss Francs - a different story in Euros of course.) The Osteria also offers rooms to stay which also have been nicely renovated. Nothing fancy, but simple and authentic. The only negative to mention is the traffic of the Italian cross-border workers during rush-hours.

we stop to remake and enjoy the view of the place after several km riding our bikes. we find this lovely little place well maintained and loved by the two artists who manage it. curious about what the food at km0 can offer we are served a local sandwich with cheese and thirsty from the fatigue to get up there we drink two bottles of mineral water per person. after the compliments for simplicity and goto offered we are going to pay. 42 euros for 4 liters of water and two cheese sandwiches?!?!? it was not understood if they were 21 euros in total or 21 euros per person as at the time of payment (without receipt) the rest of 50 euros were only 8 euros! I'm sorry because the two artists seemed f...
