"Located at the back of the restaurant this large raised beer garden can be accessed through the restaurant or via a side staircase from the street. It has large, mature, oak trees for shade and lots of seating. One of the city waterways runs directly...past. This is one of the restaurants we visit each time we are in Esslingen because of this fantastic beer garden and good local dishes. During the past year they appear to have attempted to modernise their food. There are a lot of alfalfa bean sprouts covering dishes which didn’t have them previously and certainly don’t need them. One of the local salads is now served in a trendy Kilner jar with too many bean sprouts sprinkled over the top!! . The beauty of the local cuisine is that it is basic ‘peasant’ food done very well it doesn’t really need modernising in this way. If I wanted fancy food which can be tremendous as well I’d go to a fancy restaurant! Here I want well made local food in a proper beer garden. Don’t get me wrong, the food is well made but lacks authenticity now. The next summer visit will probably just be for the beer and wine. The local rose is well worth a try irrespective of the hopelessly bean sprouted food"

We enjoyed a really great evening here, primarily because the food was excellent, and our waiter, Pascal, was absolutely fantastic. Thank you Pascal for making it a great evening

We had few options at the town due the year end period. The service is quite slow and poor without much attention to the clients. The food I should say that is not as bad as the service. It is a place to remember to...not come back View menu

I stopped off for a light lunch on a very cold day. This restaurant is in a beautiful old building and the interior is the same all oak and very old. The Goulash soup was superb and also the cold beer it was most welcome....Be aware that if your bill is under Euro's you have to pay in cash. Cards are only excepted for Euro's and over

Lovely Schwabian food with a pleasant beer garden. We had the 'chef's plate' for which was a fantastic way to sample all of the different local dishes and provided plenty to eat we could't finish it!. Children had schnitzel and chips which they enjoyed....The only reason for taking off a star is that our second round of drinks never appeared and then we struggled to get someone's attention to pay. The staff were all helpful and friendly in dealing with us but getting the were quite inattentive

We started off in the beer garden with drinks and lunch. Food was excellent, drinks were good female staff not as friendly as the male staff though sometimes they weren't responsive either, service was slow at times. When it started raining, we ended up...in the restaurant it was very beautiful inside. As the weather was so bad we decided to stay made friends with a guy from the US so we ended up doing dinner as well. Again a good variety, food was very tasty though service was a bit slow the waiterswaitresses were a mix of nicefriendly to a bit standoffish. Prices are a bit high View menu

After reading some of the reviews on TA we wish we would've listened. We were drawn by the supposed a vegan options of which they had for a side salad and a dumpling covered in tomato sauce! Rude waitress... Face like a smacked...butt! Slooooooow service! You know when you walk in a place and you think... Nice! Well that's as far as it went.. We ordered and then the waitress had such an attitude, made us feel so uncomfortable, we wished we could've up and left! Food was average and very expensive. Overall, one of the worst experiences I've had in Germany. It's a shame, because the place is clean and has a nice old German look about it. Would have to be totally desperate to come back

Several of our friends in Esslingen are a bit 'sniffy' about this restaurant but it has become something of a first night tradition for us. We visit Esslingen almost every summer and this is our first port of call. Do it once and it's an...experiment, do it twice and it's a tradition! They have a large, elevated, beer garden which overlooks one of Esslingen's canals and has mature trees for shade. We've never eaten inside due to visiting in the summer as it has always been warm weather. Located close to the main marketplace and one of the main shopping streets, it has an ideal location. They offer hearty Schwäbisch cuisine, the staff are friendly and there is lots of space outside. We often...

"After a long time it led us to Stogi for a family festival. On the basis of the last visit, which was too long, of course we went to good things there and this time have not been disappointed. The institution can be taken from my previous assessment, because I do not think it has really changed what I personally do not find bad. What is somehow positive in this ambience is this generosity in the guest room. There is not necessarily a table next to the table so that you hardly get through the room without a tick everywhere – there is room here. We were kindly welcomed and led to our board. Drinks were ordered quickly and also fixed. To the dishes: At tasting with me were the Tzatziki and the cold filled wine leaves (Dolmadakia an Tzatziki as an appetizer. In the most important foods I landed at “The Light Grieche” and could also taste in Moussaka. The Tsatziki was tastefully good, but there was a little pep, so garlic. From this one did not feel much, but otherwise it was still good cost and a decent part. There was a little oil of crusty garlic bread. That was really delicious! The filled wine leaves, 5 pieces in number, came with a small tavern Tzaziki and were also good. Since we ate the two appetizers, there was luckily room for the main dinner! The light Greeks consist of Gyros, Putensteak – 2 pieces – and Pommes, of course the obligatory salad to the main dish must not be missing. The salad was nothing special now, but it belongs to it. Then the dishes gradually came to the table. Optisch made almost everything here, the Wolfsbarsch not only looked super tasty, he also seemed. The Taverna plate, which had taken some, had to be stacked on the plate (see the pictures each. The Gyros was very good, partly well possessed and well seasoned. The meat barely or not fat places! Top! The two pieces Putensteak were tender and also very tasty. The Pommes were good too! The Moussaka I could taste with my wife and with the exception of the fact that the part was a little small, it was delicious against him great! The cook understands bringing the ingredients well together to the dish. Even if you don't like eggplants, here it is so well prepared, it definitely tastes. As I said, something bigger could have been the good piece. But when my part was too much for me, my wife could take some of my records. Finally there was an ouzo or cappuccino on the house for everyone. The sanitary facilities are one floor down and can only be reached via stairs, so not so good for people who have problems with stairs. The toilets are clean. Parking is available in the courtyard or on the street for pleasure. Stogi did not see us the last time and hopefully we will see you soon!"
