"although cuxhaven is only 50 minutes away from us, we have not managed to get the restaurant sterneck, which has a well-known name in our region, where the selection in matters of peak gastronomy is not exactly great. this has changed yesterday on the occasion of my wife's birthday and I regret not finding the way to the sterneck before. after the friendly reception we were guided on our table, which was discreet but lovingly decorated on the occasion of the birthday. we chose the menu "elbe 1". my request for the exchange of the langostinos due to a shell animal allergy was immediately complied with and the notice regarding my allergy was immediately passed on to the kitchen. Instead, the kabeljau was offered to me from the Starck menu. then we were given a nicely designed print about the menu sequence, in which my cablejau was also taken into account instead of langostino (my tip: personalization of the card by handwritten mention of the name of the gastes (if known from the reservation) on the title page). after the selection of the wee from the extensive wine map, whose prices, as a previous speaker mentioned, can be considered fair, then we started our taste fireworks. on the paper the creations and their compilation were initially partly quite adventurous, one experienced aromenexplosion after the other, all very finely matched. all the feeds were very lovingly dressed, the changing porcellan in different colors and designs always provided for refreshing change (only the glass bowl on which another greeting from the kitchen was served before dessert, reminded me somewhat too strongly of an oversized petri dish from the chemistry class). we would have liked to have taken the accompanying wine journey, which was allowed to enjoy a neighbourly, but as a driver there are limits and alone it does not make any joy. the service of the team around restaurant manager onno siemons was at any time impeccable, attentive, discreet and never high-rise. herr Siemons understands that he is inconspicuous to entertain and give him the feeling of being a long-term ancestral guest, even if you feed the first time there. you can easily notice his long-term experience and feel very good. towards the end of the evening we came with our neighbourly still very pleasantly to chat and as a crowning conclusion, herr Siemons handed over to my wife a very lovingly designed, small birthday cake, but because of our degree of satiation (from the old prejudice, you will not be satisfied in the gourmetgastronomy!) with us the journey home. we have gathered our experiences with the peak gastronomy to date mainly on sylt, where you might find a somewhat more exclusive ambiente and public in the well-known gourmet restaurants, but also the typical "sylt supplement". so the look at the bill was then also anything but a shocking experience and each euro was spent with a good and satisfied feeling. apropos ambiente: surely the equipment of the restaurant relatiw bodice and also a little came into the years, but above all it is cozy so that we felt very comfortable in this regard too. only the view of a kind of glazed loggia at the side facing the parking lot, in which various chairs were stored, did not fit into the picture, there is an optimisation requirement. We also felt the panoramic discs, which are strongly reflecting after darkness had collapsed, as not very optimal, here the next renovation would be desirable for the exchange against de-mirror discs, with this being admitted really small. Conclusion: it was a completely successful birthday evening and we will surely come back."

Cuxhaven is a coastal gem known for its seafood, especially fresh North Sea fish and shrimp, alongside traditional German dishes like Labskaus, a hearty meat and beetroot stew.
