"We booked our table for 9pm as we had friends visiting and needed a later dinner to allow for travel time. After sitting down, we started having a catch up and a member of staff took our drinks orders and handed menus to us. Didn’t think this would be a problem but we were given literally 1 minute to look at the menu and order our food being told the kitchen needed meal orders in by 9:30. This was approx 9:10pm. We asked if we could have more time and literally had an extra minute before being asked for our orders again. We felt like we were rushed and didn’t really get a chance to read the menu. While waiting for our starters, a loud speaker above our table came into action around 9:30. Obviously this was for the evening customers who were there for drinks, but we literally could not hear each other speaking, it was so loud, ruining our catch-up. Our food arrived promptly, starters were lovely, there was no problem with the meals, they were delicious. But we hadn’t finished eating before we were being asked if we wanted our mains to arrive. We asked for more time to finish eating our starters, but again, felt rushed into eating our food. I could understand if the restaurant was rushed off their feet and really busy, but there was only 2 tables eating when we arrived, and that included ours. 2 other tables had people drinking in small groups and one small party at the rear of the restaurant. It wasn’t busy at all. Our mains arrived promptly, again, absolutely delicious. Couldn’t fault the food at all. But we had no conversation as we really couldn’t chat over the loud speaker above us. So please, make sure you are not situated sitting beneath one of the 4 big white speakers. Myself and my partner finished our meals but our friends were still eating when our plates were removed and handed the bill. We had planned to stay for drinks and booked the table till late but as soon as we finished, we paid and left. Mainly because we felt the service was very rude and rushed, and we also couldn’t hear a thing. The food was delicious though, and I want to make sure that people realise this and not put them off eating here, but you really need to look elsewhere if you want more time when eating late and conversation. Maybe if food is being offered, allow for diners to finish eating before starting the party, or, just change the last meal order times to ensure diners don’t get the same experience we had. Was very embarrassing for us after Inviting friends to visit and hearing great reviews. However, would consider eating here again, but we will defo be eating a lot earlier to avoid the evening entertainment and disruption for dining."

We came for a meal with a large group of family. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Nick couldn’t have been more attentive and pleasant. We’ve been to Paradox many times before and will be back!

Such a good night here for my sisters birthday, had the mixed platter for 4 and it was so good! Stayed for cocktails after, ask Eddie for long islands! Would reccomend for a night out or a meal, lovely place in heswall

I absolutely love Paradox! Ive been here a few times on a night out, the atmosphere and cocktails were great! Tonight I had food and it was amazing! We came here after winning a free roast dinner in an online competition. Excellent food, the starters were really tasty, the pea and mint soup you could tell was freshly made and the accompanying bread was freshly baked too. Very delicious. The roasts were really great, perfect portions and the roast potatoes were crispy and delicious. The lamb was cooked to perfection and wasnt dry at all. The desserts were INCREDIBLE. Get the treacle tart it will change your life! Absolutely unbelievably good. Service was great Eddie looked after us, would definitely go back again. Thank you

Phoned up to order a takeaway Sunday lunch on a whim. The gentleman on the phone was most amenable and talked through the options- he also allowed me to have a half beef half lamb choice as I couldn’t decide! Collection was quick and easy- ready in 20mins. There was plenty of tasty, tender meat. Roasties and gravy home made- no Aunty Bessie’s! Everything was hot and extra gravy was provided. 4 types of veg came with it all nicely cooked. We were told there is usually a delivery service and we are welcome to order the night before for collection at a set time. This is one of the best take away roasts we have sampled and we will definitely be using the service again! Excellent.
