"What better way to finish the evening after walking some five miles through Grugapark on a cold, wet, and rainy day than by settling into a nice, cozy dinner at Pelayo, a Spanish tapas place. Okay, so the fake fire was not that special, but...it added to my moment. It was almost as good as Odyssia, but not quite. They did feature many lovely tapas, but they also offered main courses. I enjoyed the espinacas con gambas as a starter. However, since everything is a la cart, I had it brought to me with my meal, which was the salmon con gambas. The salmon was cooked in a delicious cava rosemary sauce. However, I felt the portion was a tad bit small. The meal was delicious from start to finish. My only complaint was that the English menu apparently did not have the updated prices. My salmon dish ended up being three Euros more, which certainly will not break me. Still, if every price were higher, then for a larger family the difference could be quite the surprise. I recommend they fix this! Que aproveche"

Very good tapas choice. Food is good quality and not too pricey. The staff is nice and friendly. Only small deficit: it can get quite loud inside in the evenings

Enjoyed our experience and meal here. I made some bland choices avoid the Spanish potato cake but others picked better. The paella was good. The potato crusted shrimp was good also. Good service. Busy

A mustsee and musttaste restaurant located in Essen and it is full of delicious spanish tapas and desserts. Garden is very calm and warm, and service is fine... I highlight the fried icecream... Enjoy..

normal restaurant, normal shopping in comparison to other restaurants during the fairy-time, beautiful place, we only have tapas eaten, good, the pata negra I have eaten better instead the serrano was exquisite, then for every taste something is there

we were here two. a nice scene with a proper meal. I had a vegetarian appetizer and a filetsteak. both of good quality, the steak unfortunately somewhat to fried. the tappas of my partner also tasty, although no culinary highlight. but quite recommended.

a really nice restaurant, well furnished with the opportunity to have semi-private corners for small groups.Good eating and very respectful to the Spanish tradition. los pimientos I liked especially well, I would not recommend reading tortillas. The ice was a pleasant surprise: pleasant and in a Maxi portion.

I was there on feb 14th and showed up without reservation; I got an okish high table. Food was good, menu is rather short but the tapas are big (bigger than in other Spanish places I have been). Paella was also tasty; the prices are quite reasonable for what you get.Service was slow, but the place was full so all in all I think it was ok.

Ten of us came here during a commercial fair and had the best service out of any other restaurants all week. They had all of the food advertised. And once ordered it come quickly. THATS what service should be like. Not like some of the...other disasters we had. Not a single Spanish person in the building, but the food was reasonably good. Certainly nothing like in Spain, but good nonetheless
