"First and foremost, we should have mentioned this at the time, but our drinks were brought to an outdoor terrace for us. By the time we realized how watered down they were, it was too late to bring them back inside for replacements, as it was quite a far walk. The wine glasses were mostly filled with shaved ice, with just a hint of orange Aperol at the bottom. After checking later, we found that an Aperol Spritzer should have at least 50-60 ml of Aperol, while ours seemed to have only about 25 ml. One glass had more orange color than the other, indicating a lack of consistency in measuring. It is a basic rule in the hospitality industry to ensure that drinks are consistent in order to avoid upsetting customers. The amount of Prosecco in the drinks was unclear, but it seemed to be a small splash. Our drinks were mostly watery, relying heavily on the melting ice for liquid content. Despite wanting to give this venue 5 stars based on previous positive experiences, we could not ignore this recent letdown. The Aperol Spritzer was not on the menu, but it ended up costing £12 each, which is quite steep for this drink. The total cost for two drinks was £24 plus a £3 charge, which essentially served as a service charge. In the UK, service charges are optional and should be based on the client's satisfaction with the product and service. If the establishment chooses to charge in advance, they should deliver drinks that match their reputation. The Bartender who served us was new, but the receipt listed the Operator as Neresh. I am hopeful that the drinks at this establishment will improve on future visits."

This restaurant was a fantastic spot for a girls' brunch. They offer a wide variety of brunch options and the food is delicious.

After attending two state fairs for two days, I was craving a substantial meal that wasn't fried fair food. I wanted a meal that came with silverware and included vegetables.

This restaurant is incredibly distinctive with a charming ambiance. We dined on the lower patio and enjoyed a pleasant breeze throughout the evening. The portions were generous, and the Banana meringue pudding was delicious.

Unfortunately, the most appealing seat by the bay window is too high, causing feet to dangle. However, it is understandable given the stunning river views that are always in high demand. There is another window seat with the same view available. Despite not planning on having more than one cocktail before dinner, they are too delicious to resist. View menu

I popped in here before a meeting in Somerset House. Took ages to get served, the drinks were stingy and not that special and I had to wait ages for the bill. It cost £9.05 for a tiny cup of hot chocolate and a coffee and because I was in a hurry, I didn’t realise the cheeky member of staff had added an unadvertised 85p to my bill for service. I’m furious and will never set foot in this rip off of a bar again. Beware of hidden charges and spend your cash elsewhere. Totally not worth it.

my boyfriend took me for lunch here on valentine's day and it was absolutely perfect. the welcome we received was warm and friendly, and the service in general was quick and each member of staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome !! we arrived slightly earlier than they served lunch, but they were kind enough to save us a lovely window seat and recognised us when we came back. they had amazing food options for both of us (i'm vegan and he has a few allergies) and the coffee was GORGEOUS. they were attentive, always making sure the jug of water was full, and made us feel very looked after !!

Before you visit this restaurant, make sure there is no private event happening. We arrived and saw the soup of the day and beef stew featured on the chalkboard. Excited for a warm meal on a cold day, we tried to order but had difficulty understanding the waiter, who refused to lower his mask for clarity. We later learned that there was a private function with only one chef, causing a delay in taking our order. Two elderly men at the next table had already been waiting for 50 minutes. Hungry, we settled for two cold croissants that could only be heated in a sandwich maker. We were promised cheese or jam to go with them, but received flattened, inedible pancakes with a slab of butter instead.... View menu

I thought this place was supposed to be somewhat classy, but not in our recent visit. At an early stage we asked the waiter to turn the music down. He shrugged and said, it is Friday evening, and the music is playing in the other room, too, presumably meaning If I turn it down here, it will be too quiet in the other room. I replied that we would find somewhere else to gather and drink, at which point he went to turn the music right down. However, halfway through our bottle of wine the music had been turned up gradually to what had been the previous noise level. The space itself is elegant and does not feel geared towards youngsters who would be the sole clientele appreciating such club-like...

Time was when Somerset House contained the divorce registry when lawyers paced up and down the corridors to attend court hearings. Nowadays it has been transformed into an arts and entertainment centre containing a number of ever-changing restaurants and bars. I was disappointed to find a branch of Fernandez and Wells temporarily closed for refurbishment. Elsewhere Tom Aikens’s bar and restaurant appears to have been replaced by a couple of even more upmarket ventures in the shape of restaurants from Bryn Williams and Isle of Skye Gyngell. Pennethorne’s is a stylish bar spread over a number of rooms with an onsite kitchen in front of which is the area I chose to sit. It was a relaxing experi...
