"Went in here and ordered our drinks and food. We were with our Assistance Dog Charlie and told to go outside by a very rude young woman on the counter. I told her that on your door you have a sign stating no dogs allowed except Assistance Dogs they took no notice. She called the foriegn manager and he said rather abruptly we had to outside i explained the dog was exempt but again he was totally ignorant. I intend to report this cafe to the appopriate authorities for breaking the law. I tried to explain that he was an approved assistance dog and he was wearing an assistance dog coat. I asked for a full refund and walked out never to return."

As expected, a friendly welcome with a quick chat until more customers arrived...the large cups of tea and coffee welcome after the cold outside, and delicious, freshly made bacon and egg rolls, all at a good price...well worth the visit.

Found this almost by accident very glad we did. We got a friendly welcome and as it was later in the afternoon it was quiet. The menu was fairly straightforward, which was to our liking. We both ordered burgers, they arrived hot well presented. We really enjoyed them and will definitely eat here again next time we're up. View menu

Visited on a Sunday. Got to Hawes at 12pm. The centre was full of motorbikes with the cafe and chippy packed. We did the circular walk so by the time we had finished the cafe was much quieter. We stopped for coffee and cake. For some reason they don't label any of their cakes vegan but when I asked there was a choice of 3. So glad I asked! I went for the cheesecake which was delicious. My partner had the Eccles cake (non vegan) which was equally lovely.

We had never visited Hawes before, but were happy to discover this cafe. It was very clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. They had a wide variety of hot drinks, with the hot chocolate being a popular choice, and an extensive menu. Despite it being lunchtime, we decided to try the Yorkshire Breakfast which was delicious and great value, even coming with two slices of toast. They also had a tempting selection of cakes on display, and I was impressed when a customer inquired about gluten-free options and the lady behind the counter was able to quickly and confidently point out which ones were suitable.

"We had booked with booking.com . On arrival we were told that we didn't get breakfast included and that it would be Β£15 a head. We accepted this although thought was pretty steep for breakfast in a pub.The first morning we were given a menu clearly stating that breakfasts were included with all accommodation. I ordered poached eggs with smoked salmon and the other two ordered a full English breakfast which included homemade black pudding. The breakfasts arrived ,one of my poached eggs was runny, the other hard. The English breakfasts had no black pudding on the plates and when queried we were told that the deliveries hadn't arrived. Doesn't homemade imply made on or near the premises and as the owner states he is a butcher by trade I would expect he had made the black pudding. No alternatives were offered and presentation was distinctly lacking , with the baked beans poured over the other items. The next day I risked the full breakfast with black pudding which was lovely. But again the others had badly cooked poached eggs. We were offered no fruit juice, cereal or even toast and marmalade. On leaving we discovered the pub was unmanned , despite poor mobile signal. The owner turned up after 15 minutes. The bill was handed over, charging us for seven breakfasts when we had six, it was adjusted after he asked if one of us had had two breakfast one day? He served and cooked them so should know the answer to that. We were also then overcharged for nine coffee when three coffees and two teas had been ordered. Having had a family B and small hotel in York I advised him that standards were not what I was used to. I spoke to someone who had also visited recently and she stated a member of staff had charged them Β£15 per head for their similar breakfast where we were charged the menu price. Exceptionally poor menu, inaccurate advise saying breakfast included then charging us and probably the worst breakfast I have eaten in similar accommodation."
