"Piccolino is a fairly small Italian chain with restaurants dotted around Bristol, London, Manchester, Liverpool and a few more spots. While not as high profile as the likes of Pizza Express or Bella Italia perhaps, can it beat them in terms of quality and service? While nowhere near as hit and miss as Bella Italia, it's about on par with Pizza Express. The food might not be the most exquisite Italian you've ever tasted, but it's certainly tasty to a degree, and I have to say that the risotto comes highly recommended. What does set Piccolino apart however is the superbly efficient service. I was really impressed with how friendly the staff were. You can definitely get better Italian food for less money, but whether the service will be quite as good as here remains to be seen. Like I've said it's not the cheapest option in Liverpool, but if you're in the mood for something Italian and fancy having plenty of choice, this would be a good bet."

Good food and good service reasonable prices on Liverpool on the city centre. The spaghetti carbonara and the spaghetti frutti di mare were delicious... too full to try any dolce. thanks for a lovely evening.

I can't say I was terribly impressed. Let me say first I love el dente paste and garlic, but my pasta was almost crunchy and the huge, raw chunks of garlic would be enough to put anyone off. My portion of ravioli was very small and it desperately needed either a bread or vegetable side. The dessert saved the meal, it was the perfect amount of chocolate and Carmel ice cream and really was amazing. View menu

Excellent restaurant, definitely a place to visit for a special occasion. I have been here a few times with work, it 's very popular with professional types, lots of business people in there at lunch times. Food is delicious, great quality although a bit on the pricey side if you are paying for yourself! Atmosphere is really good, the restaurant is very smart and has a 'smart ' feeling to it. Service is excellent, very friendly and helpful. Treat yourself!

Piccolino isn't one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Liverpool but it isn't too bad. I'd say the quality of food is ok, there's nothing particularly wrong with it, it just doesn't excite me. One of the things I do love about Piccolino is the staff, they are always so friendly, polite and helpful. They seem to genuinely want to be there and provide a good service, which is a rarity these days. One of the downsides, however, is the cost. It can be quite costly considering the standard of food but I did wonder if they pay their staff a lot. Would perhaps explain their enthusiasm! How cynical of me.

I took a group of 15 there Dec. 29th, and had a very bad dining experience. It took over an hour to get our food. They may have been short staffed, but the way they dealt with this...by ignoring us while we waited for our food, was simply unprofessional. And the food was not anything special once we got it. I have a feeling they rushed it out of the kitchen at that point. They are supposedly a higher end restaurant, but I will not be back, nor will I bring any of our groups there again. I normally might consider giving a restaurant a second chance but with so many dining options in the area, combined with the lack of professional manner in dealing with us, I will not return here, unfortunate... First of all the service was absolutely on point! Our wine glasses were never empty, the food came quick and they even charged my phone behind the bar! To start we had oysters which were fresh and came with the hottest Tabasco sauce, definitely a must! We had the lobster with pasta which was delicious, and not too rich! We had the house Pinot Grigio which was also crisp and fresh and went well with the main. We ended with the cheese board, which had a good selection with the most beautiful blue cheese! It 'blue ' my mind. The staff could not do enough for you in a calm and professional environment. The decor was stylish and appropriate for the high quality of the meal, which would definitely...

This eating experience was absolutely awful. The scallops served in the shell were amazing, and the cheeses were good. Everything else was terrible. The salmon with saffron was bland and the fish was overlooked and dry (I've had this same dish at the location in Chester and it was WAY better). I ordered a halibut special and guess what...it was overcooked, too. I thought I was eating roasted chicken breast it was so dry. The service was fine, but I had much higher expectations of the food after having a very good experience at their Chester location. We spent upwards of £100 for one bottle of rose wine, scallops, cheese, and two overcooked fish entrees. I don't mind spending a lot of money o...
