"The signs were subtle, yet significant: upon entering the Picnic Cafe and ordering coffee, the card reader prompted us to add a tip before receiving our service. Shortly after being seated with our drinks, a waiter brought us additional coffees that we had not ordered, appearing confused when we declined them. It seemed as though the staff were unfamiliar with human customs and social norms. My companion jokingly suggested that the cafe may be a training ground for extraterrestrial beings, acclimating to life on Earth. As we sat outside, a man mistakenly identified me as an old friend before realizing his error and heading inside. It was clear that there were some peculiar occurrences at the Picnic Cafe, making it a unique and intriguing dining experience. For those curious to learn more, I recommend paying a visit and uncovering the truth for yourself. You won't be disappointed."

Oh my goodness... I stumbled upon a fantastic restaurant in Bath. The atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. I tried the toasted New Yorker sandwich and it was incredible! I highly recommend it.

Got a chai latte today to keep me warm. After waiting a while, which wasn’t a bother as they were busy so understandable I got a under filled ‘chai’ latte that tasted like basically just milk and was only just room temp. Over 4 pounds for a cup of milk.

My children, myself and husband visited this cafe every day for the 3 days we were in Bath. Excellent cappuccinos, yogurt/granola bowls and almond croissants. The staff is friendly and the cafe is very clean. Both inside and outside seating areas are available to customers. I highly recommend this establishment. View menu

Morning wander around Bath, I wanted somewhere to stop for a coffee and cake. A lot of places are not open until 8:30 or even 9:00 so great to find this open at 8:00. Clean, functional space. Tables chairs well spaced. Good service. Good quality americano. Tasty date oat slice. Reasonably priced. Overall a good coffee shop.

I visited the restaurant with a friend. The place was small, which I expected for a specialty coffee shop. The prices were moderate and the setting was charming. However, the coffee was mediocre. It seemed like they might have over-roasted the grounds, but I'm not sure if it was just a bad batch or if I made a mistake by ordering a generic latte at a specialty coffee shop. I may give it another try, but I have some doubts.

This is my go to coffee in the morning post gym. I’ve been coming here since Covid hot and it’s become my established routine. It’s a beautifully relaxed atmosphere (which I want and like), coupled with great coffee and staff. Some staff have come and gone in my time here (which is the way of things) but they are consistently personable and engaging. I would say this is the place to come for coffee in Bath but I don’t want my favourite coffee shop over run! View menu

The staff in here are always friendly and the coffee is very good. I usually have a cake, small lunch or a snack too and there is a good variety on offer. It is sparingly decorated and really pretty tranquil on some days it doesn't have that clattery feel a lot of Baths cafés have. The WC is also always neat and clean a small thing but it helps to make Picnic an oasis on a busy day in town. I like the big windows too : also it is an INDEPENDENT cafe which I love :

What a lovely little spot! My boyfriend and I visited on our stay in Bath for coffee and it was really good! The coffee was amazing (exactly what I was hoping for) and they also offered alternative milks which is always nice. They also had a really great selection of gluten free cakes, which was such a surprise being gluten free myself! They had a brownie, victoria sponge and also carrot cake, as well as other regular cake and pastry options. We both had a slice of the carrot cake it was sooo tasty. The interior is lovely really bright and aesthetic. The staff were very friendly too which always goes a long way. We will definitely be visiting on our next trip in the near future!
