"On our way to a funeral we needed to grab a quick bite to eat to see us through. So glad we avoided the petrol station offerings and called in at Picnic on the Green. Initially I thought the selection looked a little sparse but I soon realised it was spot on. Choose your bread (any roll from the window or type of bread) select your filling (egg, ham, tuna, chicken, chicken/bacon/sweet corn mix and more) Salad? Butter? You choose. I chose the chicken/bacon/sweetcorn mix on granary bread and it was absolutely delicious. Top quality ingredients and excellent value for money. The nicest sandwich I've ever bought never thought I would wax lyrical about a sandwich! If you have a sweet tooth you will be catered for too. The owner was lovely and when I popped back afterwards to say how we enjoyed our food, he seemed pleased. You wont be disappointed if you call in here"

Ambrosde is very welcoming and provides fresh bread and rolls (with paper bags not plastic), freshly made sandwiches and lovely sweet treats.

The lunchtime rolls at this restaurant were delicious, but a bit expensive at 20p per salad item. The selection of unique canned drinks was interesting, but I would have preferred to see some regular soda options available as well.

We had a (socially distanced) delivery from Picnic on the Green this week and it was delicious. Our order included pastries, tiffin, sausage rolls and two loaves of bread. Everything was fresh and tasty, it was lovely to have some fresh bakery produce at home while we can’t go out. View menu

I have used this coffee house on several occasions love the concept. I do however wished the layout and preset was clearer. The sandwich bar areas does Oy a menu or indeed any prices for the sandwiches can lead to confusion and embarrassment sometimes. Lovely coffee house but please price and make menu options clearer!

I love this place. Man who runs it really knows what he is doing, he is always smiling, very chatty, polite and the food is delicious, bread is always amazing and always available. I have phone ahead before to ask if I can pick up some cheesecake at a later time and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend this little gem.

In my opinion, customer service plays a crucial role in the dining experience, whether it's at a high-end restaurant or a take-out place like this one. I happened to visit at a busy time on a Saturday, but I imagine that lunchtime during the week is the best time for a wide selection. Despite the rush, the owner was helpful in suggesting a few options, and I was not disappointed. View menu

Nice basic spread of sandwich fillings here, get it on any bread or on a bun/baguette of theirs for £3. The baked things they have are really great too! Not to mention the owner is so friendly and service is always great. Essentially, you should go here, support your local businesses and enjoy a great sandwich for a reasonable price! (They also sell other small-brand produce, eggs, bread, ice cream, etc. Recommended to all my friends :

This is an amazing dining spot unlike any other. The owner seems to be acquainted with everyone and greets each customer with a friendly smile. The space may be small, but it is well-stocked with high-quality food products. Towards the back, there is a small open kitchen where Ambrose, the owner, crafts sandwiches using a variety of breads or baguettes filled with fresh ingredients chosen by the customer. Additionally, there are various snacks available including fruits and juices. Ambrose also operates an impressive espresso machine, creating delicious coffee and other beverages with skill. His establishment resembles a quaint village shop, and no matter how dreary the day may be outside, a...

"we had a great lunch card yesterday in the tudor room. it is in the did a room, with perhaps 8 tables overall, and a bit dark, but with beautiful view of the beautiful gardens that are worth visiting. the staff was very friendly and took the time to thoroughly explain each court. they were particularly attentive, maybe something too much so (constantly looking at us), but it did not spoil the experience as eating was really high-quality, definitiw worth a Michelin star. we were greeted with some beautiful canapés, followed by a small olive oil and exalted pre-starter, which subtle and refreshing, even though on the small side. the brot and the butter were very nice, warm and crusty as it should be in a restaurant this standards. we then had dinner: my pigeon was particularly beautiful, but the cold crumb dish of my gaste was not so tasteful. also the seabream has been refined, but not exceptional. for the net I had a really tasty pork (from different parts of pork, including some delicate wange cooked in grill sauce) and my guests had the equally well executed turbot with beautiful parmesan gnocchis. for dessert we had two a light and exquisite dish that celebrated the earthy of the gariguette (compressed, fresh, as sorbet, tuile) and the other gast enjoyed a rich manjari chocolate sponge with coffee cream and yuzu sorbet. both desserts were equally good, but the aromen in the starters and netzen could have been more consistent. only three tables of the room were used on a Friday afternoon, asking me why cancellation would cause a fee within 48 hours. overall the experience was great, the service was error-free and we will probably return, but we had even better eating in the latymer, which today is unfortunately closed on Friday for lunch. if possible, I would have got 4 and half a star. a lunch is nice, the gardens are also beautiful. highly recommended."
