"My friend and I needed a place to meet in central so that we could spend a few relaxed hours planning a hen do. We ordered two avocado and eggs on toast, and then enquired about a bottle of prosecco to get in the hen do mood- well... the member of staff pulled a very judgemental face because we seemed to be the only ones in there not drinking coffee. We laughed along, paid the bill, and then they moved onto the next customer without cracking a smile. I had to interrupt and ask if we had a number we needed to take to our table so that they could find us. I was ignored twice until another member of staff pointed to the tray with the number for me to take. I had to lean across other customers in order to reach it because none of the staff were kind enough to pass it to me. We then sat down and waited for 15 minutes. Nothing came, not even the drink. I approached a member of staff who told me to go and ask the person who I ordered with because she was busy cleaning tables. Once I did so, they brought the bottle over with two wine glasses) and just dumped the bottle on the table, leaving us to have to open it ourselves! No ice bucket or cooler neither. Then when our food arrived they only brought one dish over as they hadn’t put the second order through. A shambles. And such a shame as I love the cinema there."

The cafe looks cool. The cakes are appealing. But pricey. I am struck by how many people there are behind the counter twice as many as in the cafe.

We went to an afternoon film show and had a chat over a drink beforehand. I had a soda water with fresh lime and it was free. What a nice gesture. Neither the cafes or cinema were busy, the staff were pleasant and helpful and it was a comfortable and pleasant experience.

I usually like coming to picturehouse central. The box office staff are good but the upstairs bar/cafe are definitely rude. As I can see from other reviews. Found it acceptable to be rude and then stood talking about me afterwards. Great shame a great cinema is let down by rude cafe staff

We jumped into here before the theatre as we only wanted a sandwich and coffee. It was ideal. The service was reasonably fast at the counter but the choice of sandwiches was a bit limited. The staff were quick and pleasant but on occasional smile might be a good idea. If you only want a quick snack, then this cafe fite the bill nicely. View menu

Where do I start? A group of clearly inexperienced staff one of whom was rude to customers trying to operate a busy ground floor cafe and no sign of any manager. Running out of basic food items such as bacon and hot chocolate. Food arrived late and cold. Judging by the moaning from customers, we weren't the only people to have a poor experience. You have a brilliant cinema in a lovely building and potentially one of the best cafes in central London, but a lack of management is letting you down.

We were lucky enough to attend a special screening of Cars 3 with a Q and A with Owen Wilson himself. Aside from enjoying the film the venue itself is incredibly. New, fresh, quirky decor, hugely comfortable reclining seats, some with double sofa seats. Snacks not hugely overpriced, and a great cafe downstairs where we enjoyed a bit of salt beef and Brie after the screening, has some amazing looking cakes on display too. All in all, a totally different and charming cinema experience, we will be back!

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
