"21st December 2015 on stop-over to Spain we stayed in Clermont Ferand, came across this bustling restaurant just off the main square. We could have dined street level, cosy and busy,we thought better & chose the relaxed very French cellar area as we had our small dog and it was quieter.Great staff, small menu, very clean !Complimentary bread and water (Amazing bread btw) Tournedos Rossini for me,Duck with wild berries for my darling both with superb dauphinoise potatoes.2 carafes of house wine and a bill of only €54 !!!!!!!!!!!! The Duck was so good she would not order it anywhere else during our trip as anywhere else would be a let down !! My Steak was fabulous....Value for money, service and quality of food we struck gold that night and will always re-visit when we are in the area !!"

Though the interior looks odd (cheap tables with paper white and red checkered napkins) we ventured here for diner. Service was quick and friendly. The dishes we choose were excellent.

I was there for a business trip and I had a dinne4 in Pile Poele. The restaurant was quite full and waiters a lot busy. We has entrecôte charoleuse and red wine. They were both excellent.

I enjoyed my time and food very much. Staff could understand my dodgy French and their English was good when I didn't know how to say in French. The food was excellent for the price. I would happily return View menu

very good meal from start to finish, the restaurant gets busy towards weekend so it is advisable to book ahead, I had a great steak here as can be seen from the pic, lovely ambience and the staff are friendly.

A very nice place to go in Clermont. Menu isn't long but it is enough to have a taste of France. There is delicious fish, perfect beef or lamb and a wide choice of regional deserts.Portions are big enough to make you feel happy and satisfied. Surely worth visiting while in Clermont.

My parents lived in Clermont for a few years & this was one of the restaurants they took me to during one of my visits. Everything about it was fantastic. I had the Onglet (on the recommendation of my dad) & it was excellent. The food was well prepared & tasty & the service was good & professional (we had the waiter who has been there for years & always seems to be there) I would definitely recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in Clermont! The food was very authentic 'Auvergne', however we ordered aperitifs straight away that didn't arrive for about 20 minutes and then the starters took a whole hour to arrive, and as soon as we finished the mains arrived straight away!I recommend the eggs poached in white wine as a starter and the Foie de Veau as a main was lovely. They have a 'wine of the day' from the region which was a very nice touch.Overall good food (not amazing), but the service let them down a little on the night we visited - Wednesday in March.

The menu looked interesting and although busy, we managed to get a table outside without a reservation mid-week. We had the Ris de Veau and Foie de Veau which were absolutely sublime. Then we chose the Rhum Baba. This was still warm and came with a pot of rum and covered in Chantilly cream. It was huge and I have to admit I couldn't finish mine. Amazing value, lovely friendly staff, excellent service. We are here for a few days and will definitely be going back. People were still coming in at 10 pm so definitely a very busy place. Worth a visit.
