"I first went in to buy some beer to take home. The waiter spoke great English and was very helpful with the recommendations. Later we went back with some friends for lunch and the food was surprisingly good for, what I thought was, a craft beer place. You can go there just for a drink, to buy some beers for home or to have a good bite."

"We read an article in Travel and Leisure from August 2011 that we saved. Admittedly, we visited 2 years after publication. The article describes the restaurant in glowing terms as the best meal I have in Trieste. The author raved about the fritto misto. We ate here recently and were disappointed. First of all, our meal cost $190 for two of us. We had 2 courses. First was amberjack tuna that my wife enjoyed. I had octopus that was just ok, pretty chewy, although the one really interesting part was the tomato ice cream accompaniment. We both had fritto misto and both felt it was mediocre. Wines were far more enjoyable than the food and apparently drove up the price. If cost is no object, you will find the restaurant charming and the service attentive. Silence in this place is akin to a church service. There are only 6 tables. It is a 5 minute walk from the piazza."

"Visited for lunch one day and found the service to be particularly cold especially when I didn’t order antipasto, primo, secondo as is often expected of tourists in touristy cities. I had a plate of spaghettone with vongole (clams) and mazzancolle (oversized shrimp usually fairly close to a prawn, scampi, etc). The pasta was perfectly cooked and good quality pasta. Clams good. The mazzancolle we’re hidden when the plate arrived and was photographed because they were small and essentially shrimp. (I wish I got a photo). I spend a lot of time in Italy and eat often at the sea this was not what was expected. Perhaps because they thought I didn’t know better. Cake was fine. Wine and coffee fine. Prices fair. Man behind bar kept touching raw fish and then handling people’s bread. Yuck."
